Buying from Infibeam 3rd party seller

well i bought panasonic 50ut50d 3d TV from infibeam.
They were pathatic.

I didn't get chance to write review on my experience but here it is:

a) at the time of order it was mentioned it will be shipped in 6-8 days but, when i place the odred it show on invoice it would be shipped in 15 days of time.
b) at the 15th day i called them up to find out if they shipped, they told me it will be done by evening.
c) i called in evening they told it will be shipped in morning. and this cycle kept going on for next 6 days.
d) their staff is useless, no sense of responsibilities, no body calls back though they promise that they will call back to update.
e) before ordering product i asked them how many 3d wear glasses are there ? answer was two.

f) after 21 days i got a mail that tv has been shipped, shipping companies detail was given to me (aryalogistics.com)
g) i called shipping company, they told me to call in morning
h) I called in morning and told them that i have few plans on weekends so they should clearly tell me that by what time around they would reach me.
i) I was not at home and i got a call that your TV is at your door.
j) delivery person was totally rude and argued with me that if i won't arrive in 10 min he would take it back. I told him that it would take me 1 hour to reach it is his wish if he wants to take it back, he can.

k) delivery man was useless and told me that he has no body to get it to the third floor in my society
l) he told me that if you have back pain issue call your neighbors.
m) on opening the package i found there were no 3d glasses. No hungama vouchers, and no Bill of TV.
n) now i had another task of getting the hungama vouchers (worth rs 2000) and pair of 3d glasses (worth 9800) and most imp BILL of TV.
o) I kept on chasing, writing mails. but even after delivery of TV in 20 days it took them 2 more weeks to ship a package.
p) I kept in touch with support and reminding them in these 20 days that there should be two 3d glasses and they kept on promising me yes they are arranging it.
q) after two weeks i got a package, and to my surprise it had only ONE 3d eyewear.
r) i checked their website: they had changed the product details that there is only one eyewear. I had no proof, that at time of order, two glasses were part of product.
s) I persistently kept on chasing them. They told me that they shipped two glasses, they would check their cc camera footage to find out if only one glass was shipped or two.
t) it felt like i made a blunder by choosing them to buy a costly item like 70 k TV.
u) So effectively after lot of chasing and endless holding on phone i got this order completed in 40 days approx.

verdict:
I won't recommend it.
I kept my finger crossed if they would ship every thing, which at last they did.
but they lack professionalism. It was lot of pain and tension.
they are not worth.

^Thank you for posting this detailed review.
I urge you to post this review on Infibeam website as well.
Did you purchase through ModernElectronics or directly via Infibeam?

Edit:
Did you get VAT paid bill?

And did you get 3 year warranty from Panasonic? (Infibeam site indicates just 1 year warranty)

a) i bought it from infibeam, i was wise enough to not to take risk of their associates.
b) I don't know if it included vat, what difference does it make to me as customer?
c) warranty is standard one year + 2 year on panel. I am yet to register product.

Regards

This is the classic case with Indian e-Shops. There is no sense of ownership and accountability. There could be exceptions but that's about it. Hence I advise ... stick to low cost electronics, small items, books/CDs/DVDs, etc. when ordering on e-Shops.

^^^ Whew, what a nightmare.

It doesn't surprise me though. I have dealt with Infibeam and they are a bunch of morons. I don't even bother looking at their website any more.

Flipkart has been pretty good and I have purchased more than a few items above Rs. 20K items without any problems.

Rhythmhouse.in has been pretty good too with regard to DVD, BD purchases.

Such companies neither have an infrastructure nor an inclination towards good customer service.

On the other hand, it seems flipkart has invested heavily in this category. They have one vision. Dominate this space. They are more than organized than many other shopping portals. I know people in infibeam, and they used to say flipkart is 1000 times bigger in sales.

Thanks for sharing feedback. Conclusion is never buy expensive items online and never buy from infibeam unless you have that time and energy to fight which is certainly not worth the discount you are getting.

flipkart is actually 1000 times better than infibeam.
I have been regular with them, and i maximum purchase with them was 11k, i bought a mobile which is still working. and never had issues with them.

The major purchases that i can think of now are

1) Kenwood car stereo - 12K - Ebay Global - Good communication order came within 16 days
2) Motorola Milestone - 26K - Ebay - Good communication and item arrived as promised with no probs
3) Edifier DA5000 - 8.5K- Infibeam - Good communication , but item not available, they replaced with top model (DA5000 pro) with little cash extra (350rs), order took almost a month to reach me. frustrating..hmm (But they provided me spare bill after a year, for RMA).
4) Flipkart - Ordered some printers, graphics card, VFM phones of 5K to 12K 2 ,3 times and all went smooth..

Among these infibeam was the worst..hmm

Just to all mentioned above, I think if at all one buys from sites other than flipkart, then one should always go for Cash on Delivery, it will save one the hassle of keeping a tab on credit card statements, also if the order is taking too much time then one always has an option of cancelling the order without having to follow up for payment return.

Im so glad now we all know what reality is and no matter how much discount these frauds provide best is to buy from our local dealers

Posted,
I hope they would authorize it to appear on website. It is under approval cycle.

I just checked, after 4 days, my review was not appearing on infibeam website.
So don't trust reviews on infibeam website, they are filtered and selective.

They are posting only good ones and eleminating negative ones.

This site is not worth.

If infibeam didnt approve it, I think better post the review on mouthshut for benefit of people at large & also add this point of Infibeam being selective in approving reviews :)

I too got my 46PB20 delivered.

After the initial hiccup of TL20 (order placed 16th Jan) which went out of stock after I placed order (?) I changed the order to 46PB20 and ask them to deliver after 10th Feb as I away for some time, it arrived exactly on 11th. It was put in wooden packing etc and came via GATI. So for me the service has been good with customer representative being in touch me. Only concerns were :

1) Though the infibeam packing was good, the TV packing is giving me doubts, after opening the box the internal packing didn't look like a company packing with thermacol pieces coming out. The TV looks brand new (manufactured Jun 2012) but the packing looks like its been opened and repacked. Also on this model its seems there is no way to get usage hours. So the worry still remains. Also one of the wall mount screw unit had fallen inside , so TV had to be opened, the screw unit attached. I have raised the concern with Infibeam folks and they are looking into it.

2) They still charged me 46TL20 price but on email they processed the refund.

3) Didn't get bill but just a letter saying its a non commercial purpose item. But i asked them email the soft copy which I got instantly.

TV is working fine and is a great model

^Good to hear about this.

Some questions:
1. Did you get any warranty card? The Infibeam site says: 3 year warranty. Sounds great.
2. Did the serial number on the box match the one on the TV?
3. Did other things like manual, cables, etc come with the box or was something missing?
4. Since you did not get hard copy bill, are you certain that the soft copy bill is a VAT paid bill?

Edit: http://www.infibeam.com/TVs/i-Toshiba-Regza-46-Inch-LCD/P-E-HE-Toshiba-46PB20.html
Assuming it is this one, did you go with ModernElectronics or Infibeam directly? ModernElectronics is cheaper.
Any experience in checking if the manufacturer will honor warranty on this piece? e.g. trying to register the product on their site?
