I always buy in bulk. The way I view is that I will get some unusual recordings that I would not have cared to listen to, if I had to choose. I listened to many albums and got to understand how good they really are, by taking this approach.

Condition can vary but if you limit your source to personal collections, then the probability of getting junk reduces greatly. The actual risk is with accumulating duplicates.

Frankly, prices in India have really gone crazy. I was in Vienna in November and met a record seller at the flea market who often visits Bombay in search of records. He was here in March 2013 after a few years and was amazed at the kind of prices chor bazaar dealers were charging these days. He said the average price quoted to him was about 40 dollars flat irrespective of the artist and the album!

As for the Austrian seller, he had some amazingly rare 60s psych LPs which were all for under $20. Stuff like the Fuggs, Arthur brown, Serge Gainsbourg, Belfast Gypsies, The Sonics, etc. Although the covers were a bit worn out.

Can't say about HAHK, but VZ has very nice SQ. Pressed in UK with great packaging.

Can't say about HAHK, but VZ has very nice SQ. Pressed in UK with great packaging.

+1. Veer Zaara has amazing sound quality. And as Bhaskar said, packaging is fantastic too. But it is priced with a hefty 3K rupee tag, however, keep in mind that its a 3 LP set too. One LP is dedicated to the making of music by Madan Mohan just like the ACD of the title.

Just want to make sure if they are really worth. Recently I brought the LP of Jab taak hai jaan, but found the challa songs is bit slower than the one played in music channel in TV (MTV, ETC, B4U, Mastii) etc.
Did anyone noticed it?

I think music channels transmit remixed version with inserted video frames in between.
