My 2016 Model Polo GTS TSI comes with a MIB II infotainment system but it has no CAr Play.
The 2017 model came with wired car play and probably MIB 3.

1. Has anyone with the Polo GT TSI 2016 model upgraded their audio system to support wired or wireless car play ? If so with with system and does it need any special wireless adaptor ? I suppose MIB 2 can not support wireless car play.

2. In doing so were you able to retain the steering control for music and volume controls. And retain all other system functionality of the head unit.

Thanks

What is your budget? Installing a new car stereo should not be a problem which has support for Car Play.
Use the below link to look up Pioneer India website for systems that will work in your car.

Not sure about Bangalore but there are usually installation shops that have the kits needed to do a clean install.
These include the steering control integration for most car models including integration of cameras etc.

while the temptation to go aftermarket is strong, I would request that you look at an upgrade of later models of the VW headhunts. VAG (Volkswagen Audi group - VW, Audi, Skoda, et al) units are interoperable with minimal coding and it's not too difficult to do. plus if it's a can bus model you could get access to a whole lot of additional features. You should also look at car specific forums in India. and read the build threads. In some cases it could be as simple as a firmware upgrade... I don't have experience of VAG cars, But I do have another brand German car and I can assure you that it's all modular. I've been there and done that.
