DIRAC LIVE & DIREC LIVE BASS CONTROL

And most important. It has made the difference. So far I did one trial run with 13 points ( as prescribed by the software). The imaging is pin point accurate and the subwoofer integration is really well. The tricky bit is the crossovers. By default it just sets all speakers to 70. So got to play around and fiddle to get it right for your own setup and room.

I tried Dirac Live on my AVR Denon 3800 yesterday. Audyssey is more lively as compared to Dirac - initial impression. But after testing speaker preset 1 (Audyssey) 2 (Dirac) I find that Audyssey has put upper mids and highs on steroids. Dirac sounds very laid back in comparison. So if I am listening to a Dolby Atmos demo the Audyssey gives an immediate “wow” factor. However if I am listening for long hours I have to switch to Dirac since it is very balanced. Audyssey is very jarring to the ears but good to impress friends (LOL). Each has its relevance - Audyssey sounding very forward yet impressive and Dirac more balanced.

It could be because of Dynamic Eq in Audyssey. Have you enabled it?

You can load different target curve for Dirac with bass boost.

True, audyssey bumps up the high frequencies after calibration which needs to be reduced especially for stereo listening. I have used the Multeq filter to reduce them.

Did 13 point calibration with Dirac last night. Result is still quite 🫤. Preference is still Audyssey. So I checked Audyssey settings- it has bumped up center channel for some reason. The FL and FR are set at a level of 3-3.5 while center has been bumped up to 9.5. Distances measured by Audyssey are correct and shows that FL, FR and Center are equidistant from listening position, then why the bump ?

Not sure. You can share your project to Dirac team, they might be able to guide you. Or else you can ask for refund.

Try with 5 or 7 points, it may give you tighter bass.
