DIY: Pass F5 turbo v2 initiated

I also prefer Panasonic FM or FC series caps for small values in my build. They are defiantly better.Their PP caps are also very good with +/-5% or less tolerance.BTW: Vishay caps are not manufactured in India. Epcos (Siemans)caps are manufactured in Nashik,India.

Sachin

That is news to me.

@Omishra & Sachu888, I'm going to FM Mathews Syriac's workshop for the past 2 days for building a cabinet for the Class D amp. I broached the issue of finding difficulty in buying capacitors for the group. He seems to know genuine sources for the caps in Richie Street. Tell me how many caps and their values are required by us.

Hi capt,
anything above 10000uf 50V with 10mm lead spacing will work.My personal preference is Panasonic but whatever good known brand in low ESR available would be ok.

Regards,
Sachin

Mishraji, I think it would make sense if you and Sachin procure all the components on behalf of all participants by default. If someone wants to do his own procurement, let him opt out on the thread and then we can procure for all.

Otherwise we are all kept guessing as to whether we need to opt in at every stage or whether stuff would be procured for us as well. If you guys need funds in advance, it could be stated in the thread and those willing for central procurement would pay up front.

That is same intention from me,if somebody has objection please raise it now.

How many are required?

We need to ask to the group. One F5T will require 16X10000uf caps.We are total 16 members for GB.

Received components amount from following members:
1.Bswamin - Rs8500
2.Bhaskar - 8800
3.pdhanwada - 8500
4.Vktarun-8800

As I said before, we are not clear as to how many guys require components here in addition to the components. Taking participants' concurrence at every stage would mean delay and more delay. People may be travelling/ out of station or Country, not well et al. Since the above members have paid for components, lets begin a list with them first in the list. I'm adding my name too. I suggest you ping the rest of them requesting them to exercise their option. Then we would have an idea of how many components to look forward to.

1.Baswamin
2.Bhaskar
3.Pdhanwada
4.Vktarun
5. Omishra
6. Sachu888
7. Capt Rajesh

So as things stand now, the requirement of caps is 16x7 = 112 numbers.

Though I have transferred money to Sachin today for components, I will not need the caps. I have enough to last another two builds.

Cheers.

Got the heatsinks They are the same as N9 from Aluminium heatsink, Heat sink in bangalore, Heatsink stockist, Heatsink dealer, Heatsink supplier, Aluminium LED Heatsinks, Aluminium Reflector Sheets, Aluminium Caul board Sheet 2.5mm, Aluminium Plywood sheets, Aluminium Alloy Rods, plates in 2014, 7. I procured them from a local Hindalco dealer. They have 82 mm fins and a 14mm base thickness. I think this heat sinking should be sufficient.
As these Heat sinks are 205 mm in width, I will be joining 2 X 6 inch sinks per channel Using a aluminium anglers.

Plan to have 10.5 in X 16 inch inside space for all the components which include two transformers of 140 mm in dia, three boards on the base. 2 boards on the heat sinks. I see that the inside space is little conjusted. but I feel I can adjust them.

With regard to the Heat sinks they costed me Rs 4300. Sachin estimate of Rs 8000 looks close for me as of now. Because the Aluminium plates and anglers are also reasonably expensive.

Two transformers costed my Rs 3600.

No decision made on Capacitors yet.

Thanks
Pandu

From Trafos Pune.

It includes tax and shipping. That is why it is little expensive than your initial estimate.

Thanks

Mr Kutumba rao

He deals with bigger heat sinks which electronics industry uses. Unfortunately He has few heat sink models at his disposal. As our orders are small, it is problem to get the exact one for our requirement. We should be able to find suitable compromise.

He office cum residence is near ratnadeep super market in Vikrampuri, Karkhana

For some reason, these are called battery clips locally. Easily avbl. MX has very
nice gold plated female ones. Male tab terminals (faston connector) is also
easy to find.

PCB Tab Terminals

The size we wanted is 4.8mm on PCB. Unfortunately in local market I could not locate one except 6.3mm ones.

Edit: I think there is some goof up here. Distance between the centres of holes is exactly 4mm which show 5mm in the software design. Why this scaling happened? Still that 4.8mm will do but with little bending.

Any better source of 4.8mm tabs than this?

Hi Om,
They are also available here https://www.jst-india.com/productSeries.php?pid=15117&cat=464
We can also use these white wire to board connectors like Raghu used it on power supply board

Sachin, these tabs are 4.8mm wide and not the leads.

More information is required if we use it from PCB-PCB, what about wire headers? If we get those pins then also we are fine.

[Sorry for bad picture quality, there was little time for me to focus and get the snap from mobile phone camera.]

This is our problem now -

And this seems to be solution for me.

Is this okay?
Initially I thought this will be cheap but its not that cheap, comes ~6Rs for each (2 pins+1 clip).

I think bending a leg of that PCB connector should work since difference is only .2mm
