DIY: Pass F5 turbo v2 initiated

The goal is to keep the heatsink temparatures around 55c.
That will keep the inside case temp in 45-50 range.
The caps are rated @ 3000hrs @85C.

This should easily give us 5000-6000 hrs.So with a optimistic 4 hr listening Evey day this gives us 4 years. That's enough for me :-)

This may help you. If I put values life 3000hrs, @ temp 85 deg C, Vmax 50, V op 35, ambience temp 60 then I get 24000 hrs. That should be enough.

I think I read in one of the threads in DIYA that the PS cap's voltage rating should be atleast twice the rated voltage of the PS. In this case that would mean 2X24V at the minimum. If it was me I'd look at atleast 63V. I could be wrong on this though...

Not nessacary. 50% of voltage safety is enough. I feel 40V caps for 24 V secondaries is good.

Even teh F5T V2 which has 32 volt secondaries we are all pinning in 50V caps.

Our DIY audio Gurus can comment.

Thanks

Diy audio's GB for F5 V2 normal kit contains 10000uf 35v Panasonic caps.I think that caps should be Ok.

The caps Sachin has suggested, mentioned in datasheet that it could withstand 63V for small time. There are 3 derating for electrolytic caps - operating temp, operating voltage below max rating and ripple current. Out of this temp is max effect on its life.

That is why I thought the price was shockingly low as they are from a seller in England so less likely to be fakes only the voltages are on the lower side and they don't ship to India.

sachin,

I paid Rs 3000 for boards, Rs 8500 for parts and Rs 4160 for caps. Not Sure how much I need to pay more. If You have all the parts except the Caps, you can ship them to me.

Will send PM of my address

Thanks a ton for organizing the whole of this event.

If we are looking for separate fuses for each channel, what kind of slow blow fuses to use.

Also NP proposes to use a fast blowing fuse while testing. If so let me if 1 amp per channel is a good one to use.

Thanks
