If you check this Daft Punk album, you’ll see how much more dynamic the vinyl is as compared to the cd.
Basically what this means is they have not used any compression when mastering the vinyl but have used compression when mastering the cd.
as per this the Dark Side of the Moon 2023 vinyl has the best DR across. while the 1973 release has lower dr as have most of the others.
Having heard both, which gives a picture of the DR but not necessarily of the sound quality like organic presentation etc I guess.

I keep hearing/ reading about “Transient response and sound decay” in reference to speakers.

Just as it’s the law to put a label on every packaged food indicating ingredients and nutritional values, or on medications specifying components used in the manufacture it should be made mandatory to label CDs and Vinyl sold commercially specifying the source of master recordings used and details of compression and remastering changes made.
No particular relation as one is about how long the transients stay and can be heard the other is about the peaks and troughs
