I got a set of JBL Control 23T free. these are normally used in conference rooms etc for sound augmentation
Since I was curious about the internals of 70 /100V pro systems, I opened it up.

These has 3.5 Inch Woofer and .5inch Horn loaded tweeter.

The signal goes through a step down transformer before going to filter circuit board.

Since I didn't have any plans for these, I bypassed the transformer from the signal path. just for shits and giggles, removed the Big Horns & connected it to by Amps at my main system.

To my surprise they were pretty good, except for lack of bass. That is to be expected as these are expected to play only above 100Hz.

Never mind, switched ON the REL Sub & played some jazz. The addition of sub totally changed the level of performance.

All I will say is this, if any of you ever managed to get any such speakers, try giving it a go after removing the 70V/100V signal transformer.
This turned out to be excellent for background music in bigger rooms, and in a smaller room even for relaxed listening,

excellent for using in home theater, as surrounds

These are going to stay ,
I am going to install these in the home office room, with a small Sub.. was thinking abt playing with tang band small sub
get another set for the backyard deck, as these are indoor / outdoor rated.
