Guys! An update. I did not realize that our postal department has rules like - you need to show the item before packing. My bad! I should have paused before packing it. Anyways, I could not coerce the dept of posts to accept the parcel and have sent it instead through DTDC. The expected delivery time is around 3-4 days from today. But, it requires sachi's contact #. Not sure if he's checking HFV regularly. So, if anybody has it, please forward me by PM.

Damn! It was much costlier than I imagined mostly due to my large size packing - Rs. 3,960. First they said it would be only under 2K from the local office, I paid only 1K as advance and they said they'll collect the balance afterwards. But they measured it and due to Volumetric weight, they are demanding this much :annoyed:. It's in Chennai and will start to move tomorrow, it seems. But somehow they promise delivery by Friday or Saturday. Edit: I checked with DHL page for approx cost and it would've cost more than 6.5K (1.5Kgs weight, 25 x 25 x 35 cm - approx size of box)

I'll send the tracking number by PM to sachi.

See if you can confirm the shipping rates from DTDC customer care, just to be sure that the local centre is not over charging you.

How much do we have to pay individually ?

^ I think we can all share the Rs. 3,960/- equally. iaudio, you, anm, gurubhai, me - Is that all? So, that would make it roughly Rs. 792. I'll have extra for my share, because I packed it too large without which charges would have been lesser . So, it would be about Rs. 750 per head. Will PM account details individually. Let me know if this is ok with you all.

Good thing is that after all the initial hiccups, DTDC elephant did move the parcel. It's already in the US and has been handed over to FedEx for delivery. So, the volumetric weight is indeed 5.0 Kgs, for which DTDC charges were far lesser compared to DHL.

Here's the tracking information. Sachi should be receiving it tomorrow.

Status shows: Delivery attempted, but "customer was not present", so a delivery exception occurred . Hopefully, they'll actually attempt delivery at a sensible time. Is it possible for sachi to follow it up with FedEx?
