Hathway goes HD in Bangalore??

I have a normal hathway cable connection and was looking at upgrading to HD connection. The hathway site is not good at listing the available channels. While browsing through the net, I came across some sites indicating that two star sports channels itself will come to 200+ rupees every month. What is the charge for hathway if I'm looking at all the HD channels?

27 HD channels at Rs1750 per year + Start Sports 1 & 2 @Rs295 per month + Rs130 or so for HBO Defined and HBO Hits + Rs60 for Star world premiere HD.

You never know when Star and Zee HD channels will become a la carte. So the price will be on top of the above price.

Noticed that several Zee channels are back. Zee Cafe, HBO, Zee Khana Khazana, Zee Action are back in Bangalore. Yet to get any official word on whether the dispute is resolved or whether this is a fluke.

I have Humax Hathway HD box. My remote control is not working properly. I have asked my LCO to get me replacement one. He promised 3 months back that he will get it from Hathway Ulsoor office and now he is saying that Bangalore Hathway office do not keep spare remote control for HD set top box. Let me know if I can buy from some other source.

Hi,
If the remote is the problem it is usually the carbon deposits at circuit board and the backside of the press buttons. It can clean the by the following method.
1 Remove the battery. Open the remote covers.
2 Separate circuit board and rubber mat (having the buttons).
3 Soak cotton wool in CCT (carbon tetra chloride) and wipe the contact area in circuit board and rubber mat (area in contact with circuit board)
4 Fit back. Now it should work. Hopefully!!

Its a way to appease customers, or more specifically cricket fans, who would be very upset if they miss Team India's matches. Usually the channel is back only on the day of the match or only during the duration of the match.

Nothing new there, just the same old disgusting behaviour...

I was out of town for a week and I powered-down my HD STB. Now its displaying the message "Please insert your card (1)". I've seen similar issues faced by others. I dont think merely cleaning the contacts of the smart card is sufficient, right? I called the St. John's Road office and they gave me a generic reply saying that they will look into it. Has anyone tried any alternate method to solve this problem?

I think only way to fix this is to clean the card and the area where the card is inserted. Use a microfiber cloth if you have to clean the place where the card is inserted.

Few months back before digitization started, not turning on the STB for a long would have resulted in the error code (4). Hathway head office could have fixed this issue by enabling the box at their end.

I think, error code (1) can only be fixed by cleaning the card and the slot to enter the card.

Thanks. I'll try this as well. My STB has not given any dust-related issues in the past and I thought that this could be a coincidence. Let me check.

I live in JP Nagar and have been after my cable guy to give me details and arrange for HD set top box for the last 2 months now, keeps giving excuses. Latest one, the boxes are not in stock :(

I guess you better go with a DTH if you are looking for HD. Hathway is a total mess now.

I think vrishraj was talking about Nat Geo Music HD. You are right, I too stopped receiving it a while back it used to display the "Please contact you operator to subscribe" message. I dont think its a premium channel but I never found out.
