Hathway goes HD in Bangalore??

The signal issue is solved by getting an external cable from the hub in our building. Hoping for some new HD channels soon to make up for the cable peeking in thru the window.

Are you getting all the channels in Hathway? The entire Zee package is gone in my locality. The only English channels that I watch are not coming for 3 weeks now. Was planning to upgrade from my Hathway SD STB to Hathway HD STB. But now have decided to move to Tata Sky HD all the way.

Zee channels are blocked in Hathway. If blocking of channels in Hathway continues, I am also planning to move to a DTH.

You can also consider Dish TV. They have 37 true HD channels and they have launched a new HD package yesterday.

I mostly watch English Movies, Entertainment, Music and News channels. Will Dish provide good options. I rarely watch regional channels. Everyone is recommending Tata Sky :thumbsup:

Even I recommend Tata Sky. Yesterday Dish launched a HD pack for Rs200 which includes around 30 HD channels(not sure about the exact count). I haven't done much research on it but thought of sharing with you as you are planning to go for a DTH.

Called them up today. They're saying issue will be resolved on 20th August. I've called them for HD Demo this Sunday. They're saying 4600 for STB + 1 year subscription for 24 HD channels. Anyone can throw some lights if they're better than TATA Sky Corporate offer?

Hi, I am having problems in sound over my hathway.Dolby sound over Movies Now HD is coming from Rt Back and Rt front speaker while for Zstudio HD is from Left Side, Does any one having same problems at Bangalore? Just want know whether it is individual set top box problem or universal Hathway problem??
Also any updates on Zee channels? when this dead lock will be over?? Any idea when will we get Sony pix HD at Bangalore?

Movies HD is fine. In Zee Studio HD, there is sound only from front speakers but not from back speakers.

About Zee channels, TDSAT was supposed to hear the case today. I am not expecting it to be resolved soon.

This Zee studio HD sound problem is from broadcasters only. Hathway wont do anything with it.

I just noticed a funny thing in the channels in Bangalore. Home Shop 18, Star CJ and MTV are present twice! (There is Star CJ 2 as well but '1' is present 2 times). Perhaps there are more such instances I havent noticed... Is this just an oversight or some new strategy to boost viewership?

Its silly to waste bandwidth like this when there are many HD channels that have not been added recently. Even the Zee issue has not been resolved. I wonder how Hathway intends to make up for it with the monthly fee.

Beginning of the end for Hathway Cable! From October 1st all Zee and Star Channels will be a la carte on Hathway.

The tribunal directed Hathway to pay Star India at Rs 27 charge per subscriber (CPS) and Rs 21.60 CPS to Taj Television (Zee-Turner) for the period from the date of expiry of the agreement till 30 September. This was the interim arrangement worked out by the tribunal earlier.

From 1 October, both Taj and Star channels (including Star Sports) will be available on RIO basis on Hathway.

You said it! If this applies to HD as well, its gonna be a major headache for them to appease customers. Instead of building on their HD momentum, Hathway seem to be on a downward spiral. The remainder of 2014 will be crucial for them to retain any customers.

How come Hathway is the only major cable operator to have issues with channels? I might be mistaken but Den, Siti, Incable all seem to quietly go about their business.

Hathway wanted to get all the channels at cheap rates. They thought threatening broadcasters by making the channels a la carte will result in less viewership for the channels and less ad revenue for broadcasters. Hathway thought, this strategy will make broadcasters to negotiate with them. This strategy has backfired for them.

My cable operator said they have HD channels agreement till March, but I have a feeling that even HD channels will be blocked just like Start Sports HD channels were blocked.

I have a normal hathway cable connection and was looking at upgrading to HD connection. The hathway site is not good at listing the available channels. While browsing through the net, I came across some sites indicating that two star sports channels itself will come to 200+ rupees every month. What is the charge for hathway if I'm looking at all the HD channels?

Hathway Hyderabad is completely pathetic now.only 29 HD channels are coming and now some SD channels also coming as ala-carte.price is 10rs per channel.
