I got the update that all star sports channels will be activated on August 1st.

Compared to HD, SD channels look terrible. This is even more evident in sports channels where details boost the entire experience. I wonder when Hathway (and everyone else) will start treating HD and SD at the same level.
Hathway seem to be trying to put nails in their own coffin by keeping customers in the dark about details on channels. Wonder what the rest of their customer base is thinking...

MTV Indies SD has been added in Bangalore. It looks like a true HD channel judging by the aspect ratio.
Saw a few posts on another forum showing Animal Planet HD and TLC HD on Dish TV. Once the highest, it looks like Hathway are now lagging behind in HD channel additions.

I think it won't be too long before HD channels are blocked! Samething happened with Star Sports HD channels too.
Its really a Joke, so many cable operators and DTH operators and uses there own STB and user as to pay the price. Why can't they use a single STB so that user could migrate to other operator and save the STB.

I have a peculiar problem and I'm unable to pinpoint the reason behind it. Please post here if you have any thoughts...
There seems to be signal reception problems in my HD STB because channels are appearing only for a few minutes and then the "Technical Problem" message appears. This keeps alternating every few seconds/minutes.
The strange part is that different channels are affected in different ways. For ex: ETV Kannada is 'stable' for about 5-8 mins whereas BBC News is stable for barely 1 min! In the past, I've seen all channels having equal distortion but never like this.
I have internal wiring in my apartment for cable TV and my cable guy said that it could due to the degradation of the wires and consequent loss in quality. I'm a bit skeptical on this as its only about a 15 yr old building but I'll need to look into it.
I was of the opinion that something has gone wrong with the amplifier. The cable guy said thats not the cause but I'll have to look into this possibility as well.
I realize that this is quite a long post, but any thoughts would be appreciated!

I can think of only 2 reasons. 1) STB has some issue and/or 2) Cabling issue.
You can ask your cable operator to check the STB at his place to eliminate the reason of STB being faulty.
You can also ask the cable operator to check the signal level at STB end as well as at the place which enters your building. If the signal levels are different then internal wiring is probably faulty.
