6,666/- for only 11 HD channels and extra charges for more HD channels makes hathway HD expensive isn't it?

Please post the pics of SD channels;
Also, please let us know the STB details (model,make etc)
My cable operator told that there is a demo for them on HD today! Hope to get more updates by EOD.
BTW, the existing users:
please share the SD pics too....so that we can compare the improvment in HD system.
But still the same cons exist as the transmission is through cable like:
when there is a Power cut in the area there is no signal;,
also current passing through the cable wires so the risk of damage during surges etc.
But most of us observed that Hathway has been the best of the lot to provide better quality at reasonable price. HD should come down to be affordable.

It is same everywhere wherever they have launched HD. It is just that my cable operator is asking even the regular monthly charges apart from Rs6,666
Now it is 6666/- but if we wait for a month or so it will come down. They will probably start offering HD STB without having to pay for whole year in advance and it will be 1.5 to 2k. Also they said they will add all available hd channels very soon.
Just a matter of time.

May be true. But hathway is known for not having stocks of digital set top boxes. Same might happen with HD boxes as well.
I doubt with 6666 pricing. It's very expensive option.

I agree that, going forward, may be the cost of the HD box might come down a little... but what i have seen from my experience is that the model of the Box might get changed or they may run out of stock.... I believe in First is Best and if you want it, go for it...
TATA SKY has a Mega Lite Pack for Rs.5500/- pa excluding box which is almost in sync with the hathway.. There are lot more advantage using hathway as you get many SD channels along with HD. As per my understanding, using this method of broadcast will be superior.. Any way time will tell the story.. just enjoy the show

I was quoted Rs.1000/- for the SD STB (SKYWORTH C9700N) and when I asked if I want to take HD.....he told they will refund Rs. 600/- for the old STB.
For this list, not worth to pay that much!!!
Will consider only if all the promised channels are delivered!
true.Unles it adds sports channels & discovery and NGC .Its waste of time and money
This is a new connection that I took for my HT. My earlier connection and SD set-top box remain, so no discount on the box, but the cable guy has promised a discount on the old SD connexn ( mthly payment)
These are the same channels that I have on my Hathway HD connexn. The cable guy has promised 2-3 more channels, but ruled out sports as part of the package....
