Hathway goes HD in Bangalore??

These are the same channels that I have on my Hathway HD connexn. The cable guy has promised 2-3 more channels, but ruled out sports as part of the package....

Forget the cable guys. they dont know any thing.
Personally what i feel thant unless the issue with the government is solved with the HD channels biggies like sports channels and star channels will not come.As All th HD channels are commercial free infact they are not said to be channels they are said to be feeds,If the connectivity of the hd increases there regular channels will be effected specially the sports one.This is also one of the factors which may delay of adding of channels

Are you all getting 5 channel audio on on Mtunes music channel? What about the other HD channels? What about the SD channels? Are you getting stereo on those?

Thanx everyone for the detailed and useful info. One thing I'd like to know (specifically about the Bangalore service) is whether Big CBS Spark has been added to the list of channels? I have a normal SD box and Spark and History come only in the regular Analog Cable signal and not in the STB.

Can anyone check this and let me know?

I got the hathway installed yesterday. Quality of Movies Now is awesome. PQ of UTV stars is not that great.

I have connected HDMI to my LED and optical(SPDIF) output of HD set top box to my home theater.

History 18 HD channel is there but Spark is not in the channel list. It is available only in analogue mode. Infact all the channels of digital set top box are available in HD set top box as well with the same channel numbers! HD channels numbers are from 351

I am getting 5 channel sound on all HD channels. I get it on some of the SD channels as well. May be my home theater is making it 5.1 !

Thanx for the reply. One last thing, is the interface the same/similar to the one in the SD box? Also, have the number of Favorite channels increased from the current 20? I think this is a really important feature that none of the DTH or cable-boxes take seriously. Its impractical to remember each of the channel nos and the different channels we usually watch are scattered...

Interface is slightly improved but it is similar to SD box. Not sure about number of favourite channels

My operator had informed me that all the Hathway providers are unhappy with the price of the STB (3000/-) and had requested to the Karnataka Cable Operators association to intervene and to reduce the cost to compete with the DTH and the talks are going on. So its better wait till it is finalised. Anyways the STBs are available with them and under testing.

Nope, there is no DVR !

There is option in the settings, what should be the aspect ratio of 4:3 channels. You can set it accordingly.

yes even Nat Geo HD is a different channel. It is not same as SD version. Any idea if they will be adding Nat Geo HD? and Star HD channels and Star Cricket and ESPN HD?
