Hi Guys.

200 hours and this is how my panel looks now. Much worse than before..

Any match guys on your ST/GT50???

Banding is on all colors...

Help Needed : To put across the point to Pana, may I request you fellows to share pics of your ST/GT sets. I assume banding wont be there and I can put across my point that its unusal in my set.

You don't need any pics to justify. This is just wrong. Just call the technician.

What is the green tinge? Is it because of the camera that you used or is if the colour of the screen?

What are your contrast, brightness, gamma(if available), colour settings?
What picture mode is it in? Did you change any values in service menu whale checking usage hours?

Do you see the green tinge only when the screen is blank or is it also visible when there is content on the screen?

If all the above things are fine, then it looks like a defective set, call Panasonic service, and I am sure they will have to replace/repair it. All the best!

Cheers!

Pana tech gave standard answer: We saw this for first time. This is a replacement set as last had panel issues including dead pixel.

They are showing as if I played with panel.

Now to come back to you points:

1. White bands are on all color slides. On green and blue its easier to identify.

2. Significant banding while watching soccer.

Banding exist for sports on all settings say even if settings are on 30's or 90's...Severity is different though
Hell man , at least 4-5 bands on TV all over....

They are thus showing as if I am being demanding.

Damn, these bands cause soccer and sports to look crap. Also not bands are on all colors, bot just on Green. I could see on BLUE SLIDE/ Red SLIDE too

To me it looks like some issue with video card before panel. Actual panel failure could lead line or band from edge to edge. This is in middle. Also not dead/lit set of pixels. But better try to get replacement of TV.

This most likely is a Dirty Screen resulting from Bad Application of Anti Reflection Filter on ST50.

Even on "White Bar" used to remove IR, I can see portions of dirty screen
( Multiple across screen)

Is there not one TV 50" Plasma FHD and refresh rate suitable for PS3 and sports HD channel ? I really dont want other stuff like 3D, WiFi etc. Can any one help suggest a pick here?

Where are all the plasma crusaders now?

lcdfreak: Be firm but polite with panasonic tech and you may get replacement, pana service is bad in india and you will have to bug them a lot to get the replacement.

Not a Plasma crusader, but do believe my eyes. LCD simply does not compare for me...

I do see banding when I play breakin slides. It is more prominent with green slide. But is this not kind of expected and all ST/GT owners have this problem ?. There is another thread which talks about this banding.. so I am under the impression that it is normal.

I do not see this banding either with while/black scroll or normal viewing.

lcdfreak this is the first i have seen to... you need to get this replaced with the Pana guys and you may have to take the long road... hold your ground and ask for a replacement.... As rightly stated in another post no need to be rude but stand your ground. Follow the escalation protocols and my last resort would be to write to Daizo Ito - President - Panasonic India Pvt. Ltd.(PI) [Not sure if you are willing to go that far- I would]

Why are plasma owners not coming out to help ??? Just4kix,Dirac,nishabfss you guys need to help this guy :)

I can see slight banding on mid to dark green slides only when i reduce contrast to 0 as well as brightness to -50, i.e., contrast and brightness to minimum. It is not observed in any other colour slide. Banding/DSE is not seen during normal TV viewing with normal picture settings. I do not use the TV to play games - so cannot comment.

That is precisely, why I requested for pics. I can easliy say others dnt have it and my set got it and that too for almost all color backgrounds..

Also note that engineer took images at 70+ settings yet lines were visible..

If possible share the images buddy basis time at your hand

Not repeatable on X30. Looks like this is only for the *50 models. I will try to see on an X50 sometime in the next few days.
