hi everyone,
My intentions is to connect my PC and Avr, for playing flac files and video files. MY avr doesnt have hdmi connectivity. so i am thinking of this set up pc->wifi->bdp ->optical ->AVR. Bdp is pioneer bdp 140 which has Lan port but it doesnt support .flac format. Is there any way i can allow my Pc to do the decoding job and send it to AVR through BDP.

this is what i have right now. pioneer bdp 140, samsung 40d6000 led, amd phenomII x4 based PC. i will get a wifi router (for bdp end) and wifi add on card for pc.

hope i will get solution.

thank u

I would suggest to buy a sound card or usb dac with spdif out, instead of trying the wifi route. Or buy a media player which will play flac.

I may be missing something but here's something you can do.

Connect BDp to TV with HDMI/component for video and for audio you may use either digital or analogue to connect with AVR.

Connect PC to TV with VGA/HDMI for video and for audio connect via digital or analogue to play audio.

If you don't have optical out on mobo then get an inexpensive sound card like Asus DG for 1.5K, it has an optical out and also houses a decent headphone amp as well.

Hope this helps.
