Hi,

We would want othe details which include but may not be limited to: Your room size, your preference to music or movies, etc.:ohyeah: before going further.

Denon 1910 will be a decent match!

cheers!

I can suggest Denon 2310 which has more power.
Dont think of 200w amp as its the max power handling & not regular listening.

Hi Spirivious,

I had checked with one of the technician, he suggested that your speaker power handling is 200w and if the input is less watts ( ~ 90 - 160 ) your speaker will try to draw more power from amp which results may tweeter go off.

Suggested to go for more than 150w amp for a smooth run.

Please post your comments.

Hi Srinu

I have a Denon 2310 with out preouts (US Model) and I am actively considering 9.6 for 2.0 setup. When i visited the wharfedale dealer, he assured me that 2310 can drive these.

Do you think 2310 can be matched with 9.5 then ?

I am back to squre one now

Hi Idlebrain,
Yes, driving 9.6 "directly" from 1910 is not advisable from SQ point of view. However if the pre-outs from any AVR are fed to a stereo amp, then generally speaking, the stereo amp will drive the 9.6 to its best abilities and deliver better SQ.

Hope the above solves your query.

Regds,

I don't think Denon 1910 have pre-outs. Does that
means that its not advisable 1910 and 9.6 combo?

Wharfedale - If you already have a pre-power combo (you've not mentioned the make and specs though) why are u looking for an AVR to drive the 9.6s? It looks like a step rearward to me.

Again the risk of using an AVR as pre-amp and driving the 9.6s via the power-amp would mean that the sound quality will be a reflection of the AVRs sound signature. Seperate pre-amps are far more musical and offer much better SQ (in terms of control and clarity) than that of an AVR.

Think of what you want out of your set-up before making your choice. Do some research here on this forum or on the web and you'll get a wider view.

cheers

Hi All,

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions.

I would like to utilise my 9.6 speaker for both listening music via poweramp and also to utilise for watching movies as well.
