Hi All,

I have been using this great forum for quite some time - just as a reader though. Became a member sometime back but never really posted anything.

I currently have (since 2004) Yamaha RX-V450 receiver + JBL NSP2 package (4 x N24, 1 N-Center) + Space Sub.

Looking to upgrade everything. Was thinking of starting with upgrading the front speakers with floor standers. And then either adding a stereo amp / preamp or replacing the V450 with a higher end model.

Planning to go thro' some of the existing threads to choose a right tower speaker first and then to figure out if I should get a stereo amp or upgrade the receiver (I love both Music and movies equally and haven't really listened to stereo amps to know if they really make a difference in music listening).

Glad to be on this forum and hoping to get some pointers on my upgrade plan.

Welcome to the forum. It is usually a warm place and there would be quite a few posts welcoming you but am surprised that they aren't any in your case.

Don't be in a hurry. Take one step at a time. Yes at a given price point, a Stereo amp would be superior in SQ to that of a HT Receiver.

About the upgrade - I have started another thread and have already received a few replies - so quite happy with that
