Hisense U7K mini-led

Very true. India has always suffered step-family treatment from tech brands and the above is not really surprising.

What baffles me more is that amazon allows the sellers to maintain misleading product information on their sale pages. This is essentially cheap theft.
Hey @drgb , It would be really helpful if you could join us on Telegram. We are already 61 here discussing about this one and other tvs. Thank you for information, really appreciated.

additionally the 85" model will have lower LDZs as compared to the international model. The south asian models will also get louder speakers (60w vs 50w; as sold in US).
can you confirm the number of LDZs of all the models here?

Zone count absolutely matters. Last year’s Sony X95K wipes the floor with this year’s X90L with the superior processing.

You can’t compare across brands with dimming zones, but more dimming zones is always better than less.
Right'O!

My apologies sir, I'm an old fart and I can hardly keep up with WhatsApp😅. I have no other social apps on my phone. Are you guys on WhatsApp?

I wanted to know the same but the individual wasn't certain about the exact number. I have asked him for more info so I'll keep sharing here.

Nonetheless, this is clearly an inferior panel compared to the international counterpart. I'm waiting to see what offers other brands put up during the sale. I'll go for a smaller TV with a better panel anyday over a big TV with a shoddy panel. These things are so much more perceptible on a larger screen that with lower dimming zones the 85" makes no sense regardless of the technology.

Yes, I absolutely agree that zone count matters and I am not comparing the dimming zones, I am comparing the processing and algorithms across the brands. We need zone count + processing, both are necessary. And not to mention Sony is precalibrated so well, but hisense needs a lot of calibration work to extract the max out of it.

A small note of caution to anyone buying the 85" model, this one has an ADS display (Similar to IPS) and is not a VA Panel as was being discussed earlier. Apparently both the 85" and 75" models (85U7K and 75U7K) that will be sold in South Asian markets will have cheaper ADS panels, additionally the 85" model will have lower LDZs as compared to the international model. The south asian models will also get louder speakers (60w vs 50w; as sold in US). Rest of the specs should be same. Confirmed with a reliable high-level rep from Dawntech which distributes Hisense through online channels.

In other news, the U8K IS launching but most likely in December or January. Prices should be marginally higher than the U7K series.

It's sad that the company would do this just to maintain pricing across different regions; taxes in India are quite high. Anyway guess I'll wait for the u8k now.
Thanks a lot for the heads up. the 75" U7K even in the US is an ADS Pro panel. From what I've read across the internet, ADS was Hisense's last gen panel, and they now have ADS Pro with higher contrast. Do you have any intel specific to the 75", If the panel is ADS or ADS pro or thats inconsequential.

Not in any urgent need of a new TV, but quite conflicted now. I was happy about the 2+2 year warranty they're giving at launch, which doesn't mean much if the panel isn't that good to begin with.

Yes both the 75" and 85" are ADS (non-pro) panels according the distributor.

so no of the Excellent reviews on YouTube and rtings website etc are valid to the ones we are going to purchase on Amazon?

will have to wait for local reviews?

Would the U6K be a good option for someone like me that's looking for a 43 inch TV under 30k? I'll mainly use it to watch OTT content and play on the Xbox Series S. Or should I wait for the Amazon/Flipkart sale in October and get a Samsung/LG?

The 43” U6K is a basic TV. It’s not FALD or anything.

I think the difference between pre-booking and buying on 30th Sep is the free 4k firestick that they offered upon pre-booking. I guess the rest remains the same. However, I feel that they will jack up the price in the coming months and will reduce the warranty to 2 years.

On a separate note, does pre-booking mean buying on launch date? Or does the customer get maybe a few weeks / months to complete the purchase?

Thanks!

Looks that way. We'll have to wait and see.

Thanks for the information mate! Does it impact the smaller 55” as well? I was planning to get it.
No idea about the smaller TVs. Only enquired about the larger ones. My guess is that they're using the same ADS panels there too. However since they don't have full array LD, makes no sense to get it anyway. Much cheaper options available at that price.

Firestick and 4yr warranty are what you get extra.
I'm doubtful that they'll jack up the prices after the prebooking as the U8K is coming soon. Infact I'm sure that we'll see these TVs discounted on sales next year (Republic day, Holi, Grand this that etc).

I was also told that TCL might be giving good discounts on it's lower end TVs in the Amazon sale. For those who want basic TVs, this may be worth checking out.

Even if they jackup the prices, as you said the prices keep fluctuating during festive sales all throughout the year. Anyways who will buy these TVs if they jack up their prices 😀. And as far as I know the price difference between U8K and U7K will be hardly 10k-15k.

i've cancelled my pre-bookings for 75 and 85. I think I'll just for the 65C3, unless the reviews for the U7K/U8K india models are glowing.

The 55” will have VA panel as all other Hisense 55” models have VA panel only.

Also the 55” has local dimming, 240 zones. Only the 43” U6k doesn’t have local dimming

The U8K is just a rumour TBH. Or are you 100% certain?

We’ve been burned before with the Toshiba U8080 (Hisense U8G) which never launched.

That’s pure speculation. The price difference is 30-40% even in US.

If Indian U7K is downgraded and U8K isn’t, then the difference will be even bigger

Canceled mine as well. U8K either won’t launch or launch post Diwali offers, which makes no sense letting go of group buys in the faint hope whether it will ever launch.

I’ll go with the S90C then.

I'm not sure about the exact difference but yes, 15-20k sounds right and in line with how their other TVs are priced.

Makes sense. As I've said, Panel matters most.

Yes I'm certain as the source is reliable. We'll know more soon anyway from the website.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
