For around the same cost of Pioneer speakers in US, you have plenty on options in Hifimart.com, India..Please browse thru and see what suits your budget.. You can save the hassle of carrying the weight around..

I would source NR1506 in India, as the powered electronics devices here are tied to US voltage. One could get "Pioneer Andrew Jones" bookshelves for equivalent of INR 9K, in US.

Please let me know, If it is available around these prices in Hifimart OR elsewhere in India.

I would probably bring a region free blu ray player, which you cannot get here in India at all, or a light weight stereo amp from US but speakers consume too much volume .

I have an almost empty second check-in bag! :yahoo: Can carry 50 Pounds(Approx. 23KGs) Only issue would be good packaging as it has to withstand rigors of airport baggage handling.

Don't think you would get in India for the same price as in US, even if it is aval..

Bookshelf/Monitor : OEM SE 420 Speaker Black finish (PAIR)

This speaker is about 6db more efficient than Pioneer BS, wall mountable, easier for slim line AVR 1506 to drive them, abt 8K..

At this budget you should go for HT in box.
I would suggest u to forget 5.1 and go for a stereo system even for movies. Only then u will get the taste of good sound.

Congrats. Better to get timbre matched center. Hence suggest the Andrew Jones one.

Yes..Best is to go for the matching center from the same series..

U can buy onkyo or yamaha stuff from India or better.. Go for a stereo setup.
