Hi all,
Im planning to get a new home theater system for my home. my max budget is 75k, i will need a receiver , 5.1 speaker package and a blu ray player in this budget. my room size is 14*10, I was considering the BA soundware s 5.1(not the xs) and the denon x1000 but that would cost about 70k leaving me with just 5k for the player and the cables. So could you guys please help me choose a speaker package and a receiver, i do love ddep bass, and i require a 5.1 system no bookshelves and then upgrading

Hi,your original choice of BA Soundware was excellent. If it is exceeding your budget, pick the Denon X500 instead of the the X1000. The X500 will have enough juice to run the Soundware XS system
Or you could explore picking up a Pioneer AVR - they are slightly lesser priced, for comparable specs with Denon

thanks for the replies guys,
even i was thinking of getting a pioneer receiver, but pioneer receivers seem to have less reputation compared to denon or yamaha, some say the build quality is not good others are of the opinion the sound is not as good as denon or yamaha, guys which 5.1 package would you suggest for good deep bass within 35-36k

I've got a pioneer vsx823 + Andrew Jones 5.1 speakers a couple of months back and am very happy with this. The Andrew Jones speakers are very good buy.

Ironically, if you want good deep bass, Pioneer is the way to go
Their HTP RS43 for Rs 50k is the way to go, and it combines an AVR in the package

If you want slightly better sounding package, keeping the bass rich, their celebrated Andrew Jones 5.1 speaker is around 50k, but without the AVR

thanks for the reply guys,
Im pretty much sold on the BA soundware s, now only confusion is avr do i go for the 523k or denon x1000 the difference is almost 11000rs, coz hifimart has a combo deal on BA soundware s5.1 and pioneer vsx523k for 57k, but if i go for the denon x1000 with BA soundaware s 5.1 it would cost me 33k for receiver and 35 k for the speakers makes a total of 68k plus i would need a blu ray player which would cost around 7k makes a total of 75k. My question is 11k worth spending it on denon will i see a drastic change in the sound quality on the denon x1000, because the 523k and x1000 seems to have similar specs only difference is that denon has ethernet port

I think you should go with the Pioneer
As you say, 11k is a rather significant amount of money

thanks for the reply grunthos,
have you auditioned the BA soundware s5.1, coz in cochin i cant find any dealer who does BA and which in your opinion is the better sounding system (overall) pioneer or BA

i havent heard any reviews about the BA soundware S only the xs which everyone seems to praise, and about the pioneer speakers i can audition them here in cochin i do have an option for that, but i dont know why everyone seems to be keen on denon, yamaha , onkyo, marantz etc there is hardly any review on the pioneer speakers and avr's, is it because they are no match for the denons and yamaha's

Hi Sujithblaze,

I have been using BA 5.1 soundware XS and Marantz NR 1402 for over a year now and is happy with the performance. The BA S series difference is the Speaker driver size and definitely would be better than the XS.

If the Marantz NR 1504 does not fit into your budget, perhaps you could look at Yamaha RX V 375 / 377 or RX V 475 / 477 which has the latest features one would want in an HT setup.

In terms of Blu Ray players, Pioneer is good value for money, you could look at BDP 150 / 160. A 1 TB external hard disk reads and works well...the player firmware is upgradable.

Hope this helps.

Hey, I've auditioned the BA XS and BA S systems with Denon X2000 and Onkyo 313. And trust me, they both sounded good. The BA S has bigger drivers and hence they are much better than the BA XS. If your budget is constrained, I'd rather suggest you to go for Onkyo AVR. Contact Imran from Fairdeal Electronics, Mumbai for the system. He'll give you the best quote.

suggestions anybodyy????
avr+speakers+blu ray player within 75k

Go to nearest reliance digital and buy Marantz 1504+BA xs 5.1 combo offer for 50K. You will also get a Blu-ray player free ( Philips I think). Buy extended warranty (resque plan) for if they are offering (for 2 years its 5% I think). Rest in peace .

Hi BOSS8055,

In HYD Reliance Digital they have quoted 54k for that package - (Marantz 1504+BA xs 5.1 combo offer for 50K).

But reliance digital website shows Rs.49,990 for NR1504 with a freebie i.e. BA XS 5.1. Nowhere mentioned about free BD player. Perhaps showrooms are charging this extra Rs.4K for BD player or VAT or what not. I seem to have messed up.

thank you everyone for your valuable replies,
The main constrain that i face is that im in cochin(kerala) where there are not many hifi shops, the ones that i have been to have only limited stocks and the prices are ridiculously high, BA seemed like a good package together with the pioneer vsx 523k which was within my budget
and yamaha avr's seems to be priced in the higher side the rx v475 is priced at 40k and the 375 would cost 31k but has only 70watts compared to the vsx 523k which has 80watts the prices that i mentioned are online prices so it would be much high in the showrooms and to make matters worse, i wont get delivery to my location from snapdeal
so how would you guys rate the vsx523k is it leagues behind compared to denon and yamaha
and what are my best options for speakers because m.a.sara has mentioned that it doesnt have deep bass
and if i go for the onkyo will i get the same features as the pioneer, coz the vsx seems to check all my boxes, and will imran from fairdeal electronics ship items to my location??
im sorry if my repeating the question again and again my knowledge about the hifi speakers is very limited, and i dont have an option to audition them as well, so hope everyone chips in with there inputs, and help me choose a speaker receiver package within my limited budget
Thank you everyone once again for your inputs

Kind Regards
Sujith
