home theater with rca and digital out to pc

how do i enable my home theater's sorround sound to pc? what connection do i use and what hardware do i need installed on my pc to achieve it? my home theater only has rca connection and digital connection. any help appreciated! My PC only has analog sound card for now.

What kind of digital input your HT has - optical or coaxial? Does it support 5.1 analog input?

what kind of RCA connection your HT set in do have?
one set only?
or 3 different sets.

if 3.....you are ready to go.

if one.
digital spdif/optical in is the route.then you have to buy a 3 analogue to spdif/optical converter.

There must be analog out,digital output can be as a port or on board.Which motherboard it has?
