I have installed 4 speakers in my ceiling, each speaker connected with a cable. Can I connect 2 cables together at the left and right terminal of the amp so that all 4 speakers are powered ?

In some cases, yes... depends on the impedance of the speakers and your amp.
can you share some specs?

Connect in series. Do not use the transformer if given in the speakers. You can search for series wiring on youtube. Attach two speakers in series in one chanel.
Parallel should not be an issue - the amp based on specs can drive 2 - 8 ohms. Series will give you a 16 ohm Load and that probably won’t give OP the loudness required. In this case 2 in parallel presenting a 4 ohm Load may be better
