Denon AVR 1909 doesnt have any USB input. Is there any way to connect external hard disk to AVR. I was thinking whether USB to HDMI cable convertor will work, but wanted to be sure before buying the converter.
Not all BDP can tackle todays super sized (>=1 TB) HDD and should be best suited for 32GB pen drives. I also dont believe AVRs such as this can play movies for HDD on the fly. You definitely need a media player to do so.
Today's new age AVRs although have other mean (read DLNA) to play media files (mostly movies) through media server with the help of you PC/Laptop
There will be some kind of file manager for browsing the collection. But my suggestion is that you buy a media player instead of blu-ray players. Buy bdp only if you are willing to spend close to 1K for a title. Also file format support of bdps are limited. I sold my bdp for the same reason.
