Hi All,

Can you share the ideas that you have used to hide the wires of the surround sound speakers in your home as it looks very shabby to see the wires hanging in the rooms.

Thanks
S

My HT room is the living hall and has a balcony at one side. Since mine is old house with no concealed wiring, I have passed them through the balcony to the rear of the room. Other ways can be to make the floor carpetted and run them under the carpet.

Neatly wall-fixed plastic cable trays running on both side walls of the room. Instead of the trays running on top, take it near the floor level, then go vertically up at the point of location of the surround speakers.

Half-inch thick plastic cable trays would be fine. They are usually in white colour, and if you are that particular, you can later paint (emulsion wall paint) them with the same shade as your wall.

Mine is in the living room, so used the following method

1. Used a half inch plastic channel to house the surround wires
2. Passed both surround wires together (so that there is one less channel)
3. Took them along the floor tile skirting on the wall so that they are less visible as also dont touch the floor.
4. Have only one exposed area where the channel reaches from the floor skirting to the first surround speaker.
5. from the first surround to the other, the wires go behind the curtain so are not visible.

Hope this helps.

Sud,
Thanks for the idea... this is what I was also planning to do ... just wanted to know how the experts in this forum have implemnted it .... :)

Thanks again ....

Cheers
S

Running cables along the skirting or the floor is great if you don't have a small child or a nosy dog. If you do, you can run the same on the ceiling. It will definitely be a pain compared to running them lower but it will be safer.

I have a very naughty dog who has eaten through many feet of speaker and other cables.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
