I dont know if this is true. I think Dr. Bose's patents are about 20-25 in number. I am not sure if others have more patents than him. However what is probably more true is that Dr. Bose has been able to commercially exploit his patents better that almost anyone in Audio (Indian or otherwise) except maybe with the exception of Bob Carver (aka Phase Linear).

i meant to say for somebody of Indian origin.. do you know of any indian acoustics engineer wih more patents? Can you honestly deny the sound quality of bose speakers..if you keep aside the price for output ratio?
Bose maybe considered a ripoff in audiophile circles... but honestly it seems bose bashing is like a fashion in these circles.. i never really understood all the hoopla about bose.. but then if you audition a bose ht system and you dont think about the price.. can you really say its a rip off proposition and not a quality one?
When i audition a system my reference is the bose setup .. only if it beats that for a lower price its true vfm.. can you give a specific example of such a case .. do you say the onkyo 3400 sounds better than the acoustimass systems offered by bose or that the delta between the 2 are not enough to justify a >3x price difference..
