is it possible to make only 576i (720x576) LCD/LED TV?

is it possible to make only 576i (720x576) LCD/LED TV? Because all the LCD/LED TVS are of higher resolution means they are of 720p (1366x768), hence SD (720x576) channels looks poor, only HD (1366x768) channels looks good on it, why not manufacturers making lcd tvs of 576i (720x576) for the customers who only watch SD (720x576) channels because their favourite channels are still in SD (720x576) only

I don't know what the manufacturers are going to say but they mmight say something like this "If you want to find a low-res TV, go to CRT for your favourite low-res SD channels". Every channel is getting a HD suffix now, you might find Aastha in HD some day :)

^ you said true, but i feel manufactures are foolish, very few channels are migrating to HD, tell me how many popular hindi news channels are in HD? how many hindi music channels are in HD? AND i also don't think they will soon go to HD, because HD takes so much space on satellite, nearly 5 SD channels = 1 HD channel, and the rate of SD channels migrating to HD is very very very slow..

We are not expecting manufacturers to stop producing 720p LCD TVS , but they should make 576i LCD TVS along with 720p or 1080p.

There is a 480p television (43F4100 - Joy Series).. But a plasma.. 800 x 480p i think.. Samsung calls it Enhanced definition..

Someone upgrading from a 29 inch CRT who dont need 720p display can choose this TV.

of course. there were, but now outdated. I am using sony 480p for past few years for sd and pq looks fantastic. its old, heavy and limited connectivity.

It's not about providing people :( It's about embracing future :|

I know coz I've been awating my replacement for 6 months now Companies don't care about people, they just want profit.

@ pappu and others - Indian market is still NOT significant so the manufacturers feel that special ( low priced ) sku can be introduced.
again everyone is selling unnecessary features at high price and trying to make money - like LED insted of basic LCD , "smart" tv - so there is no reason .. and introducing new panel is substancial investment for a really small market. Even Indians are refusing cheap products - nano proved that - so no point for manufacturers
