Guys,

Every few days I read a post here talking about how Plasmas will not be available here and it is the end etc,

This is a post to the contrary. If a technology like Vinyl can back from the dead and thrive today, Plasma fans can look forward to atleast another decade of good service. Here's why.

The new competing technologies that provide better PQ are nowhere close to prime time. OLED, Laser TV. No one knows about the long run impact of key things like Burn-in, IR.

Keep the faith, and you will find that the marketers addressing your "need"

Keep calm and believe in Plasma's.

Its not about keeping faith, its a TV not a GOD!! People expect good support and after sales service after purchasing a TV not faith/hope/etc..

So, its better to look at the prevailing situations objectively and take an informed decision.

i was also inclined to go for panny gt50 but, I was unsure about the A S S and also the fact that I wouldnt be home during day to take care of it, so ultimately went for LED-LCD.

Even I am also guessing the same. Until OLED comes into mass market, plasma manufacturers might be producing the plasma TVs for a minority group of videophiles. Again - as there is a famous saying "Nothing is gauranteed except for death and tax" :)
