Hi Ash,
Any comments on the sound signature the cable brings in or influence in the entire setup ?
Thanks,
John.
Hi John
Sorry for the delay in replying as I think I missed your last post. Hope I am not too late and you havent already visited The Listening Room.
Comparing it with what I had with me.
Nordost Blue Haven XLR (now sold to FM) - Nordost is brighter maybe with a bit of a bite, WSS is smoother - to my ears .
VDH D102 mk iii - VDH is warmer. WSS has more sparkle in the higher frequencies. VDH is a little darker, closer, denser. I hope I'm making sense. Just my feeling.
Chord Chameleon - WSS - higher frequencies come thru more clearly with a sparkle. More forward in presentation.
Over all, the WSS gives you the feeling of letting the music come thru. Neutral. No excessive bass.
When I heard certain pieces of music with the WSS, I thought I was hearing some new instruments in the far background, especially the higher frequencies. When I changed to cables to one of the other brands, I realised the same instruments were audible with them too, just that they became more noticeable with the WSS.
I am not an expert at these things so this is my personal experience with the rest of my equipment. Some may believe otherwise. Its not that I dont like the other cables. I keep switching them around according to the music or sound I desire. The VDH goes better with my Roksan Caspian M2 amp whereas the Chord pair better with my Arcam A32 FMJ. The WSS goes with both.
Hope this helps.
