Donloads quality is far better..

I do both. Most of the rare movies I buy aren't available on downloads. Even rarer ones aren't available on the piracy market. Stuff like the Eclipse serties of Criterion, I have to buy original if I want to watch. I do buy a lot of original disks which I feel have repeat value and don't believe in buying an original disk if it doesn't have repeat value. For instance I have the entire Seinfeld collection from Amazon as it has a lot of repeat value. I buy all kinds of stuff. I watched Ordet which was a pirated Criterion but it looked absolutely like watching in the theatre. It was a wonderful experience.

My latest buys are:
SpiderMan 3 (Blu ray 2 disc special edition)
Avatar (Blu ray)

Both are amazing with sound and video being at its best. I saw these in my PS3 with 2.1 system. Next week I am getting my first 5.1 receiver with all the latest HD decoders required for blu ray. Shall play again with the receiver to experience the difference.

Ichi The Killer (is this any good?)

This movie is just average, if you are expecting gore then you will be disappointed .I found the violence in this movie to be rather funny, in fact the violence must have been intended to be humorous i guess.

Is this Roman Polanski's film "Tess" based on Thomas Hardy's "Tess of the D'Urbervilles" starring Nastassja Kinski and Peter Firth?

I have been looking for this DVD for some time. Can you or anybody tell me where I can source an original DVD from? I have seen this movie in VHS a long time (perhaps over 25 years) ago.
