Finished installing the 55E6T today. Jaw dropping 2D and 3D. If you hate 3D on small screens then OLED will change all that.

Just did some minor tweaks and ran a compensation cycle. All good so far.

My set may be replaced. More on that later.

Some quick pictures as I rush for GOTG V2:

Congrats on your purchase sir

Foolish thing to ask but how do SD channels and HD channels look on this TV?

Do they get upscaled to 4K?

Everything will be upscaled to native resolution. I watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 3D in 1080p and it looked amazing. 720p looks okay. Netflix streaming was very good in 4K UHD.

You know me. I don't watch cable.

This is best movie experience at home I've had so far.

Okay
So that means to get the best out of this panel you need a signal with minimum 1080p resolution and that too native 1080p
Not like what some TV channels do, upscale sd and claim they are true hd channels
Let me know how is your experience with movie watching on native 4k
Must be out of this world
I don't think I can differentiate between 1080 and 4k
eyes don't support such high resolution :)

Bought B6, its surely a different experience. Full HD TV channels looks great too with upscaling. Not so happy with 4 channel sound though. The 2.2 channel sound on the 850T was way better.

Just confirming have we started getting full HD tv channels now ?

About a year ago we had only HD channels

1080i is essentially Full HD with motion blur.. A good TV or video processor should be able to resolve almost every details like a true 1080p source as both have theoretically same resolution atleast with static images.

first amazing to ahve a dedicated thread, high time.

Got my B6 since a week & enjoying it, have a question who all OLED owners have their tv connected to the router through ethernet cable? if yes does it show as 100mbs or gigabyte lan port?

Cheers.

Ha ha. Everything looks amazing. Battleship is a disaster of a movie but has some good action sequences. Jaw dropping visuals.

I am on WiFi. Watched Netflix and it reached UHD without much fuss.

Interesting. Only 7.6Mbps for 4k? I believe Netflix recommends 25Mbps connection. What's the peak bandwidth do you see?

My Hathway is a 50 Mbps connection. Netflix takes about 3-4 minutes to reach 4K from 480. I have yet to test Amazon but Netflix works like a breeze.

The sound from the Harmon Kardon speaker is very decent with some minor adjustments.

At low volume they are okay but from mid to high volume they sound surprisingly good. The sound is very directional in Cinema mode.

Hathway. I have been using it for almost 5 years now. The service is excellent with very little glitch or downtime.

I have hathway myself but struggle to get 4k on netflix, which dns servers u use? also u pause the movie for sometime before playing the movie to give it a slight buffer?

Thanks.

Good so what's the peak bandwidth you see on Netflix 4k while streaming? 3 mins or more means there may be no optimized path to reach Netflix servers.

I use 100Mbps (both down and up) Spectranet and used to struggle getting 1080p itself last year. Complaints to ISP and Netflix didn't help and I eventually terminated the connection. Youtube 4k had always worked well and later Amazon Prime worked well without any issues. Now Netflix also seems to have got fixed atleast for 1080p.

insane79, I do not pause Netflix when playing movies. It takes a few minutes to reach the highest available resolution. I have been down sick but just got to check a few Dolby Vision titles and they look absolutely marvellous.

prankey, let me know steps to check and I'll do that.

well i m on hathway too but get terrible speed only for netflix streaming, fast.com/speedtest give results of 40mbps+, any idea which dns server you are using? also for your netflix playback settings you got it on "auto" or "high"

Thanks.
