LG OLED 65B6 and 65E6 purchase

Arun,

You demo'd both B6 and E6? Did you find any picture quality difference?

No, only the B6 unfortunately. To be honest, to my eyes, it was everything I needed, and after use, I do not see any limitations (also i have a separate audio system so do not use inbuilt sound and was not looking for it either).

The ARC is sometimes a bit glitchy and WebOS could perhaps have some more apps, but neither of these seem to be specific to B6 model itself. In terms of picture quality and performance, I have faced zero issues, even when playing 4k HDR.

What's the issue with the ARC? Do you get 5.1 out of the ARC?

Bought a B6 55 from Reliance Digital last week :ohyeah:.
Final price was 1.8L including the free soundbar and a few Bluray movies.

Manufacturing date was 28-Mar-2017 on the box.

The problem with ARC is that it does not always switch smoothly from ARC mode to non-ARC mode. I watch netflix and amazon prime from the WebOS apps on the TV (audio returned to the Marantz slimline AVR through ARC), but also need to frequently switch to the cable set top box and Roku (Roku has other streaming video apps not present in WebOS) which are connected to the AVR and not the TV. These devices are not operating under ARC mode as their audio is directly being played by the AVR the conventional way and the TV only plays back video and does not send any audio back.

Switching back and forth actually works decently most of the time. But sometimes it is difficult to get the TV to properly switch over from its native apps to the external AVR source. Especially when my AVR is already on the source

I'm doing a poor job of explaining. Say I am watching cable. My AVR is on the cable input mode. To switch over to TV's app, I just have to bring up the WebOS menu on the TV and select the Netflix app and click it. The TV will then nicely switch over from the cable input to play Netflix. But now if I want to switch over back to cable, I will often need to select some other source and then switch back again to cable source on the AVR remote. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Or sometimes during the switch over, the audio will play something else and the video will be blank or play the old source.

It still eventually works but I have to do something clunky like switch between sources to get the TV/AVR to set itself properly.

I did demo of 65E6 last weekend (as 55 was not on display). SDR is superb. Motion was never strong on LG and the same on OLED as well.

3D on E6 is amazing. It will convert even hardcore 3D haters.

@VIKINAT many congrats. That seems to be a good deal. How come you brought them down to 1.65 with extended warranty? How long is the extended warranty for and is it provided by LG? Someone here mentioned the cost of extended warranty as 40k. How come they agreed to give it for free? I am based in Delhi and am considering this model too. The best offer I got was 1.75 with no extended warranty.

Wow! Nice to see so many OLED owners here finally. It took little longer than expected, but really technology is driving the market. Nice to see owners threads transitioing from Projection TVs, HD ready, FHD, 3D, 4K and now OLEDs.
Here is the very old thread when it was really not available to masses. It seems 55 was for 9L in 2013. Hoping to be cheaper soon.

Guys, lg has this offer going on with their tvs as part of 20 yrs celebration and giving 1+1 warranty where in 1yr extra is panel only and other freebies as well. I thinks that's how people here have got extended warranty... It's from lg itself and dealer not giving anything extra from its side.

To B6 oled owners

Is there a way to check how many hours the tv has been used for? planning to buy this tv & want to make sure i don't get a display panel.

Thanks.

Finally bought LG OLED55B6. 20 months interest free EMI. First ever EMI purchase of any appliance and most expensive TV purchase ever.

Some forum discussion imply that OLED display quality will start degrading after 5 years of usage. Is that true ? LG says total life is like 100,000 hours as compared to 36,000 hours of 2013 production panels.

Thanks.

Congratulations!
