Logitech harmony 670 died on me......

Guys my logitech harmony 670 just died on me :sad: it was about 6 month old, got it on Ebay US through shop and ship, it was not a new piece but was in perfect condition,
today it suddenly stopped working and the screen went blank, no if i insert the batteries in it the bottom of the remote starts heating up, i have sent a mail to the logitech support guys ( expecting nothing from there though) would appreciate any help from anybody who is experience in repair of the logitech remotes...

These Logitech remotes seem to have this tendency of just conking off without rhyme or reason. I have gone through a few threads in this very forum where members have posted about their Harmony remotes going kaput. But to the credit of Logitech, such remotes were replaced without any hassles.
