Looking to buy a 55 inch LED. Please suggest.

@soamz, please note that you are being recommended the plasma from Panasonic and not the LCD/LEDs. You have shared the link for a LCD.

And nothing would supplement your reading, irrespective of the recommendations here. So please read and then make an informed decision.

I would second a Panasonic plasma as they give the best movie experience. A LED which matches their black levels will be much more expensive.

While 55" is better than 50" or 46", consider the cost angle too. At 1.5 lakh, you will get a lower end Samsung 6 Series LED. The 55HX850 is nearly 2.1 lakh, unless you buy a grey market piece.

The Panasonic 50GT50 (<= 1.2 lakhs) is way superior to any 55" LED TVs available in India. But it is a plasma and you must be inclined to a plasma in the first place. If you want to buy LED then HX850 is the best bet. But then be ready to loosen the purse strings further.

I'm fine getting the plasma as long as the experience doesn't change. What's the difference? I watch 3D movies, blu ray movies and play xbox and watch hd channels.

unless you experience it demo it...hard to explain the difference.bets is demo it with original BR disk.

Correct suggestion. Go for a demo. But one big issue. It seems that Panasonic plasmas as well as the Samsungs are in short supply.

Just checked the XT series 50 inch and it looks good. It costs around 75k. GT series 50 inch costs 1.38 lacs.

And UT series costs 89k. I think UT is good for me. So what do you say guys?

These are MRP's. Knock off at least 15 to 20k and those are triadic prices.

yes kix is right present price in my city UT 50 inch is 73k.........negotiate for the best price.these are just MRPs.also if you plan to buy not in a EMI scheme,in a shot.you can bargain further.
and remeber this thumb rule.I learned it in this forum only.credit goes to members.

rule-after final bargain, ask the shop owner to bring a fresh piece (WITH COMPANY SEAL) from godown or whatever, and take a demo of the fresh piece, then agian re pack it,and take that piece only with your presence full way from shop to your home.
he may insist you sir it will take long time you go home and we will send your tv....you say.. no problem I can have tea/pepsi for time pass.
some dealers send demo pieces.....so that much trouble you have to take..

And no EMI for me. I will pay straight on spot and get it. Just bargain for me, as Im not good at it :D

My entetainment room now depends on your co-operation :D

I am fuuly with you.but such a big item and train journey is very very risky.
avr speaker is different, but a TV is different.
you just asked the different model prices in your city.you have to finalise and ask for the best price.
go to the same shop you visited and show them the buying mood and say right now you will buy it,whats the best price.??
its just a marketing style every city shops do.they say one value and when you finalise they say sir just for you the best price is so snd so...

anyway I am always for your help.by the way do you have car.if yes, drive in to jamshedpur I am presently in and buy it.bring another friend.
in car its cool to carry.but in train its a very bad idea.

Yes, I have a big car, not a problem. But its around 450kms from my city. Too much driving. Well, I will check for the TV tomorrow.

ya ya driving plan is.... if everything bargein in your city fails.....hehe.
dont worry, bargain in that shop and say you will immidiatly buy it in one shot.
reference price
UT 50 inch 70k.start with this.

edit-forgot to mention pana is offereing a printer worth 10k with almost any plasma.dont forget that.

If he can get it for that price, I will buy it right away.

So, UT series 50 inch has been finalized here.

yes online TV purchase is a little risky.other materials dont get damaged so fast.but a TV is very fragile.
I want to share before some months one of my friend bought a 32 inch lcd from seventymm.com,when the TV reached we found the lcd screen is broken.thank god the sellers were real good and they had the transport insurance.they sent a new TV after 20 days.it was okay.they needed the photographs.one person came(meybe from insurance side/or their side) and inspected the TV...

and they had the insurance, they did not even pick up till date the broken TV.now thinking some DIY experimention with that hehe

its not that online TV is not being sold...the packaging is good also..

anyway if you are ready to drive in jamshedpur and buy it...I can talk with local showrooms for models avilable and best pricing they can offer........
in fact wait I will share the local showrooms telephone numbers.so that you can directly have a chat over phone with them

sales tax case is also a matter of concern

I never paid for sales tax via online purchase.but some of my friends faced it.not very big deal.you have to go to sales tax office and a form filling,300 RS gifting, and 10% charge.

best is asking the online seller that do they need the state sales tax form or not, also if you pay it so will they repay you.

you use just dial and find NATIONAL ELECTRONICS,SACHDEVA ELECTRNICS,PANASONIC BRAND SHOP.........in jamsjhedpur, and get the numnbers and talk for ready avilable models and pricing.
