I recently purchased a MJ Acoustics Ref 200 sub. I am extremely delighted with the purchase. Conventional wisdom is not to have a sub, especially with a single driver. So I was very skeptical as to how it would turn out even though I had spent a few months researching on the ideal sub for my Axiom 80.

The MJ sub integrates perfectly with the Axiom 80. There is no loss of speed or dynamics. The tonality stays the same with just a little fleshing out and the lower octaves being filled out a bit more. The sub goes down to 20hz.

In the past I had tried to integrate a REL with a Rethm Second speaker. I was not successful. The REL couldn’t keep up with the Rethms. Even though the Axiom 80 is a faster driver than the Lowther, the MJ could keep up with the driver.

Additionally, the MJ tech support team is fantastic. They responded to each and every one of my queries, patiently explaining the whole process of set up and also as to which sub should I buy for my system.

An added bonus of MJ sub is they have twin crossovers, one designed for music and one for HT. Hence you can connect the sub to your HT and to your stereo. It’s like 2 subs in one :)

Anyone looking to add a sub to their stereo or HT should definitely look up the MJ sub. I believe there’s a dealer in India but don’t know how active he is.
