Has any one here used this DVD rental service. On their website they seem to have a good Blu Ray collection. Not sure if these are actually available once you have become a member or will they keep saying " unavailable at the moment" ..

They have these plans

  • 4 Blu-rays at a time pack of 96 @Rs.5999. Security (Refundable) - Rs.2000 [keeping time 15 days,plan validity life time]
  • 4 Blu-rays at a time pack of 48 @Rs.3999. Security (Refundable) - Rs.2000 [keeping time 15 days,plan validity life time]
  • 2 Blu-rays at a time pack of 24 @Rs.2399. Security (Refundable) - Rs.2000 [keeping time 7 days,plan validity life time]
  • 2 Blu-rays at a time pack of 12 @Rs.1799. Security (Refundable) - Rs.2000 [keeping time 7 days,plan validity life time]
  • 2 Blu-ray at a time pack of 2 @Rs.349. Security (Refundable) - Rs.2000 [keeping time 7 days,plan validity Single transaction]
  • 1 Blu-ray at a time pack of 1 @Rs.199. Security (Refundable) - Rs.1000 [keeping time 4 days,plan validity single transaction]

Any feedback/review of the website and their service will be helpful.

Cheers

I would be happy If it is available in chennai.

Their website claim they deliver in Delhi on the same day through their delivery boys.. and in other cities they use Blue Dart for next day (or max 48 hrs) delivery.

I am also based in Pune, so perhaps this only method applies..

For outside Delhi, Bludart will do the Delivery and Pick up.
They got collection of all BDs which are released in India. You need to put them in wish list and will be sent to you based on availability. Service from Movie Mart seems to be fair, but the real pain is with the Bludart. These guys are not active in Picking up the Discs.

I've been using it in thane for the last year+.

i renewed twice.. and now am on their 96 pack.

it pretty much works as they claim, delivery is pretty rapid in thane (next day) and they allow you to keep the stuff for a longish period

the flip side is that tthey allow other people also to keep movies for a longish period, so a lot of their stock may not be available when you want it.

my dad is also using it in bangalore.

overall, highly recommended.

Hi guys !

I registered for Moviemart last year and these r my observations :

The movies were delivered to me the same day if requested first half of the day otherwise it was the next day. They have their delivery guys who r given a specific area or location that they are responsible for, any request is routed to them and if they are in the vicinity it is delivered quickly, so infact it is a flexible system of delivery.

I did not like their library of movies, so before you sign-up do check out their library on the website, if possible call and check for a few titles of your choice.
I don't think they have latest movies.

Make sure you sign-up for the programme that suits your viewing pattern. Initially, go for the least expensive with say, 3 movies a week. coz you might sign up for a progamme like, a movie a day, when infact you don't get time that often, What I am trying to say is, avoiding the pit fall of wasting your money, unnecessarily.

I hope this was of some help. another thing, failed to mention the delivery boy was very polite, they try to hint towards their "adult library" of movies, to get you to rent more often

Cheers !

Do they provide region free discs or at least region C to be playable on Region C player ?

Their FAQ section for DVD says they don't mention the DVD region and it could be any.. if this is the same for Blu ray, it is a trouble ?

Do you have region free player or Region C ? I have a Sony BDP S370 that is locked for Region C only.

Cheers

As I mentioned earlier, they keep India Released Blu rays only. So these BDs can be Region free or Region C. Since your player is Region C, it can play all their BD collection without any issues. All the best

By the way I am having region Free player.

Hi, I just joined this forum. Does anyone have a current experience to narrate about Moviemart rental services - this thread is a little old?

Thanks
Prashanth

Most of the movies you need to keep them on wish list. ready availability is a big problem. I am on 24 movie plan have hardly used 10 in a year.

THanks

Consumer forum obviously. Now after the recent amendment, a consumer can now file a case at his place of residence or work. It has become a lot easier.
