Good collection of 8 action movies in Blu-ray, and pretty cheap. works out about less than 2 per movie.

Amazon UK is selling for 21.00 and Zavvi.com for 14.99 (not sure though if Zavvi ships to India).

Regarding Shopping at Zavvi or The Hut

The Shipping charge is GBP14.99 for a consignment (almost any number of DVDs/ BDs). Last time I ordered it was GBP 9.99.

So if you order 1 or 10, you pay GBP-14.99, so if you are ordering for 8-9 titles then it is at par with AMZ-UK.

There is a negative point, which is that AMZ-UK the cost of Movies is inclusive of VAT, so once ordered there is apporximately 17% discount on the published price (as they passes the VAT benefit). So if you are ordering for total value of GBP 100, then with VAT benefit it will be GBP 83 or so, which is not in the case of Zavvi (or The HUT). They charges as per the published price (no VAT benefit being passed to international customers).

But there is a good news as well for Zavvi / The HUT buyers, it is very easy to get special coupons for 10% extra off or GBP 5 off for each order worth GBP 50 etc. Look over the net for more info. I have rarely seen such promo codes for AMZ-UK.

Apart from that, shipping classification of the goods by Zavvi (or the HUT) makes the same duty free, whereas the classification by AMZ-UK, makes it liable for duties (atleast in Mumbai they charges religiously).
 
Placed my first order on AMZ UK, and the charges were:

Total Before VAT: GBP 115.26
VAT: GBP 0.00
Total: GBP 115.26
Promotion Applied: -GBP 4.61

Grand Total: GBP 110.65

Payment Grand Total: INR 11,975.35 **

Is there any other additional charges apart from this amount (INR) like import fee/customs? If yes, How much they should?
 
If there is any duty to be paid, it will be assessed by FPO in India. The postman will collect it from you at the time of delivery.

Thanks, as the total is around 12K, is there any percentage for duty? Also it will be delivered by India Post or any other private couriers?

Amazon UK normally ships by Royal Mail, which in India is served by postal dept. Duty charged or not depends purely on your luck.. Myself not getting lucky lately charged duty of around 12% to 42% for 7 out of 9 consignments..:sad:

I think 42% is not fair :mad: Will make the same BD costs in India.
 
Had six Amazon UK deliveries in the last couple of months escape customs but one got caught and was charged 42% duty. :mad:
Have to think twice unless something is cheap or you just have to have it!

Seems they were calculating everytime and were waiting to grow the amount :lol: So what was the total value of that package?

If you order in small amounts, say 35 or less for the total order value, incl shipping, and also mark the whole package as gift, then there is a chance that you may escape duty.

Order 1: 130. Delivered in three deliveries of 47, 37 & 46.
Order 2: 128. Delivered in four deliveries of 55, 58, 8, 7.
Both orders were a mix of CDs and blu rays.
The 58 installment of order 2 was "caught".

I would still order if I am getting something not available here or getting it reasonably cheaper than other sources.
