Oh...then I think i will go for the 11 then and watch rest by other means. I also heard Matrix 1 is worth keeping, than rest 2 in series!!! And what about toy story series!! i have not received the package, since it is by COD i can refuse the delivery.

I have Matrix Trilogy, purchased in July 13 but not opened the package yet. Toy Story is great, FYI TS1 and TS3 has Hindi language option but not in TS2.

I have decided not to get tempted and purchase anything. There are plenty of bds and dvds in stock which I need to watch first. And also saving money to buy a subwoofer.

Matrix Trilogy is Rs 1499 on Flipkart and only 9 on amazon UK (11 incl postage).
Suggest always check UK prices also before buying from India.
Toy Story trilogy cheaper on amazon.in. UK 21, amazon.in Rs 1639, Flipkart Rs 1999.

Good price for 14 movies. But few best ones of Hitchcock are missing in this one like North by Northwest, Dial M for Murder, Strangers on a train etc. Anyway, it is good collection to get. I am trying to get a DVD collection of 36 movies of Hitchcock from China. It is the only one which has all his movies in one boxset.

I have the full set of B R Chopra's Mahabharat (19 DVDs). I liked the serial and purchased it for intrinsic value. But let me tell you that quality of transfer is average to poor.

Absolutely, quality is really poor!! The same DVD version of Mahabharat is now available for free viewing on YouTube as well. But if they release this great saga on Bluray, I'll not hesitate a second to spend money on the same.

same here. I thought they will release the same on the 25th anniversary of Mahabharat. shame , it didn't happen.

Even if they will release Mahabharat in Blu ray, it will not be digitally remastered to match Blu Ray PQ, and hence it will remain same or similar. I have El_mariachi Trilogy, of which the first part the El-Mariachi one is so bad it is even worse than VCD, apart from no english track. Luckily there is a english subtitle to understand. The other two are good. There are many such instances where the transfer is really pathetic. Please refer Blu-ray.com for such info.

Releasing Mahabharat on Bluray is equal to releasing 20 movies on Blu-ray.

New movies price can be : 499/- to 599/-

Mahabharat : If we calculate MINIMUM, 1 BD @ 300/- to 400/-
(It will cost 6K-8K for 20 BDs)

Definitely they will calculate the profit between 20 new movies and Mahabharat. They will earn more money in releasing 20 new movies as the price would be higher + new movie sale ratio would be higher than MB. Another reason is lot of efforts for Digitally Remastering on Mahabharat.

We all can shoot an email to Moserbaer so that they know that there is a huge demand for this title if digitally remastered honestly, it may make them to think on it. We can suggest them to create a Pre-Order Page for Mahabharat on their website, and see how many people book their copies. If they get minimum positive response (100-200) then start the production.

General : Swades is not available in the market, MoserBaer told that they are out of stock and can't make a new lot now as they have to make thousands of copies and can't sell all copies in the market now.

The 19 Mahabharat discs contain about 94 episodes. If they are transferred to BD, there will be much less BDs, even of they are remastered. But that is the main q - will someone remaster them?

Amazon India seems to have some good pricing going on right now for Blu-Rays due to their Diwali special. It may come down further though. The prices keep on fluctuating but I got some good deals. I keep them on my wish list and check the prices on and off and you may hit the the right spot. Another helpful tool is Blu-ray.com's price tracker but for Amazon US
Comparing prices, Amazon India seems to be beating flipkart consistently on pricing on Indian BD

Star Wars Complete Saga for Rs. 2399 MRP: Rs. 3999 Amazon US cost about $75 (i.e. Rs. 4600). 'Nuff said!

Pirates Of the Caribbean Pt.1 for Rs. 479. This is supposed to be a reference disc but its bittersweet because as with all Disney India releases (grrr!), they have eaten a disc. The US release has 2 BDs but this has only one. Thats why I prefer to buy most of my Pixar/Disney stuff from Amazon US

Toy Story Trilogy for Rs. 1100. This was too good to pass up as my kids love this more than me so I decided to go for the India release (only 3 BDs)

Star Trek/Star Trek Into The Darkness as a pack for Rs. 1500. This is from a third party seller called New Super Star Selections. They seem to have a 80% positive rating but although I have ordered on the 24th they have yet to ship it; so fingers crossed!

Another irritating thing on Amazon India is sometimes the product picture does not match up. Like for this product as well as the Casino Blu ray the picture shown is of the DVD rather than BD. So fingers double crossed!
