My First HT Room !!!

The subwoofer connection was a problem as I use an old style passive subwoofer which I got from Onkyo HTS3500 HTiB.
So, now I have decided to get SVSPB13 Ultra at the earliest, maybe this month itself :D
I have ordered a Monster Cable MSB850SW-8M Subwoofer Cable (26 FT), is it good ? and its delivery is expected on November 25th ..... am planning to order the sub by that time (hopefully)

Cheers,
Aditya

I need some info regarding setting up this AVR.
i have connected all the speakers ... except the subwoofer as it cannot be.
I have watched a movie and the experience was extraordinary :D
But music ...... am not sure about it and cant say that AVR is not setup properly as I do not have a subwoofer.
I have setup using Audyssey and it auto calibrated, I left it like that and it sounds really good as far as movie experience goes.
is it all that has to be done .... or theres anything else ??
The clarity is outstanding when compared to my old AVR.
Overall, without subwoofer ... its really good and I can say that it is another good investment I made.
One of the Best Investments was my Klipsch RP280-F :D
These floorstanders sounds outstanding with this AVR.
Thats all for now :D

Cheers,
Aditya

Per the picture of the recliners, you will need to raise the speaker height to be in level of your ears/head when in listening position.

With the present height you can have an incorrect combination of direct sound, early reflections and reverberations. Wall mounting may be an apt solution.

by the way, great fake ceiling there.. nice combination of lights :)

thanx turgid :)
I am sure about floorstanders they r perfect height ..... for Center channel I will place it about 2 feet high from ground. for side surrounds, they will be wall mounted on either sides :)
Thanx once again :)

Nice upgrade. I believe you are using your old speakers for surrounds. Are you now into 7.1 or 9.1?

As for as music, it's a ongoing debate if AVR can satisfy music quality hearing though AVR like Marantz tend to satisfy both movie and music together.

Sometimes speakers perform better after few weeks of warming up...

Yes Murli,
old onkyo speakers for center and surround, but the out and clarity is totally different than what I used to et from old AVR.... even these small speakers are showing lot of difference when connected to this AVR :)

its gonna be 5.1 only ...... until I move from this place, it will be 5.1
About Music and Movie experience ... I heard the same from one of my friend, says Marantz will satisfy both and Denon will be very good for Movies .... but well, i am more into movies ... so this should be fine for me :D

With me .... the speakers would have been warmed up in first 2 days itself ... they will be running as soon as I am back from work ... and weekends is totally turned on heheheh :D

Cheers,
Aditya
