Not sure why one would go to Absolute Phase for Rega. The rega distributor for india is BeeSound and they are based out of bangalore.

Yes I would agree Square, and in-fact, it was one option I had considered and even got in touch with the dealer. However it is considerably higher than my budget and secondly since it will be used in a second system which will probably get used maybe 5 hours a week tops, I felt that a more affordable amp . would be a wise choice.

I would suggest the Cyrus 6 series and the Exposure 2010S2 with in a budget of 1 Lakh. But Naim is better and it should be available by spending another 20k. I have used Arcam A 28 , a very bad experience with it.

I plan to stay away from Cyrus, because I had a bad experience in trying to get an older cyrus 8vs serviced. Cyrus UK refused to send parts for it, even when I offered to pay and the Indian dealer would only consider upgrading the amp. for significant added cost rather than just repair (I did not buy from Indian dealer - so he may be justified - but I still can't understand why Cyrus Uk did not want to support its own product). Only support they offered is if I sent the amp. to UK, got it repaired and got it back paying for the transport, repair and customs.
They lost me as a customer at that point.

If u know anyone in dxb - get from there.. Its 63k there.. Its a light amp too only 6.5 kg

Creek destiny 2 is 152k and creek 5350 is 105 k quoted. They will give 10% off. Reference point bangalore.

Prices increase 1st Feb for Creek.

I think pricing is set by the importer. For Naim, Lakozy is only a retailer

In UK internet sites.. The mrp incl the dealer commissions. In India if you notice closely it is almost the same mrp with dealer commissions and duties ( possibly undervalued ?? ). There is a huge markup.

In dubai duties are simple just pay 5% but in India this can be 30%.. That's where the game happens.

But this will be OT..

Odyssey makes or used to make a minimalistic integrated amp called Cyclops that accepts one input. I've never had the opportunity to hear the amp but considering what others have to say about Odyssey amps in general, this has been on my wish-list for a while. Plus, the amp has such good specs that it should be able to control most speakers and sound musical.

ODYSSEY- I have recently seen this brand at Navi Mumbai (Vashi) with computer hardware shops. They have a mini Tower speaker too - ODSF 15000 - which is VERY GOOD - clear and low distortion, for the price its asking - Rs.6500/-. Now this is made by Compuage India... or so, and are you reffering to the same ODYSSEY brand?
