Need your help to fulfill the dream !

Your room size is not a problem for floorstanding speakers like Polk TSi 300, actually a lot people recommend floorstanding speakers over bookshelf speakers for use in big rooms. You just have to check if the AVR your going for has enough power to drive the speakers to levels which you want, which is best done by auditioning them and checking for yourself.

Thanks !
What do you say about Yamaha NS8900,Yamaha NS-F150 floorstanders and other center, surround speakers from Yamaha ? How do they perform when compared with Polk Tsi300, Wharfedale Vardus 300 etc :indifferent14:??
I am looking at them because they are comparatively cheap :clapping: and easily available to audition.:)

If your with a strict budget then you can consider the Yamaha NS-8390 and their center and surround combo, but for a higher budget other Yamaha speakers are not all that good when compared to similar speaker speakers from Polk or Wharfedale.

The Polk TSi 300 should also be easy to audition, it is mostly available for audition with dealers. For the other speakers you can call and confirm availability for auditioning.

never compromise on quality due to budget..insted buy step by step..i made this serois mistake so telling you

what happened to sonodyne..they are seroisly good ones than cheap imppotred ones..
dont get confused/scared by power rating of speakers and avrs..
that will be very loooooooooong discussion..
botttomline is you can safely buy yamaha 573/473..denon 2113...to drive sonodyne floorstanders..

imho..get yamaha avr around 40k,,,and sono fs around 27k,,,,,,,buy others later

There can't be a better advice than this ^^. Move out of the mentality that anything imported 'has' to sound better. Also, do not get bogged down with amp and speaker rating by too much. As such you shall never be playing on full volume ever. Maximum, you would be hitting 50% on the volume, that too, it would be 'once in a blue moon'. As told to you earlier, 473 / 1713 / 522 can easily take care of the Sonodynes. These speakers can rip apart any mid-priced imported brethen! I get a feeling 'free of cost' advice never gets the right weightage!

IMO do not buy a sub initially since you are short on budget. I use my sub rarely and mostly to show-off . The 2604 FS itself delivers good bass, 2605 is even better. A sub may be necessary with BS or other small surround speakers. IMHO you should keep the sub pending till you really feel dissatisfied with your speaker system. Regarding Amp/AVR, the Y-473 I found quite satisfying. After all everybody is driving his 100-125W speakers with 100-125 W/Ch AVRs only!

I suggest that a system for your dedicated HT room should be built up slowly as you have money constraints. In my opinion the room size that you are planning is big and you would require a 75/90 rms receiver with towers and sub of 12 inches. You could start with this and add the centre and surrounds later. If your listening is mostly movies you could possibily look at Denon/yamaha receivers. Towers from Jamo c 605 series / wharfdale diamond series. You need to audition to now which systems sounds good to you as it is a personal preference

:signthankspin: If they aren't as good as Polk,Wharfedale,Sonodyne then I have no problem to shell out some more money for better speakers.

Thanks for your suggestion mate!
I can stretch my budget a bit and get Yamaha 473 :yahoo:. But Yamaha 573 is just not possible . So, will Yamaha 473 drive Polk TSi400 or Sonodyne 2605 without any hiccups ??

That gives me some confidence :)

Thank you mshifi !
Wharfedale Diamond towers are priced out of my budget, so can't afford them  . However, I can afford Vardus 400 :clapping:

one thing...
your use is 2 ch music or movie..
if 2 ch music...fs is really good....if movies...you can safely buy bs instead of fs...as there will be a dedicated sub now..or later..

473 can drive sono fs..no problem...try avenue sound..yamaha delaers much cheaper..directly imported..very very reputed

The system will be mostly for watching movies and cricket with music every now and then. So, I thought floorstanders will be best and they have a very good presence as well

In event even if you could afford a professional still it would not be required. You can do it all by yourself with help of fellow members.

The proof to this is that there are several of us on this and other forums who have done a DIY in making a entertainment room.

I desperately need your help/support for building best HT Room in budget, because I can't afford a professional to build the room for me

Hi everyone !!!
I have sent a mail to Sonodyne asking them for dealer list and prices in Hyderabad. They sent me the MRP of the speakers and later I received this mail from their partner in Hyderabad. And, I quote

*************************************************************
Dear Mr. Krishanakanth,

As we have mentioned, we are the authorised channel partners for Sonodyne, hence we do not stock these speakers in ready stock.

On the serious note we can arrange to get them and plan a demo for a 5.1 home theater, but before that we would like to know a bit more to arrange for a real cinematic experience.

Generally our speakers are compatible with almost all the av receivers available in the market,

1 What is the size of the hall/room including height
2 what is the display system are you using? TV/Projector
3 Is this a dedicated home theater room/ or multi purpose room
4 Have you considered acoustic treatment?

Awaiting for your inputs on our above questions..
************************************************************

It seems like they are more of professional home theater builders than Sonodyne dealers alone.

I feel that it is now better to audition Polk Audio TSi400 which I am sure will be available to audition in ProFx along with denon AVRs.
Please help in finding the best receiver for speakers like Polk TSi400 or Wharfedale Vardus 400 or others with similar power ratings.

Saw the video and pictures of your HT Setup . That is an amazing setup.
I may not afford all those stuff, but surely need you valuable suggestion (in budget ) till the end.

go for rti than tsi......denon polk...denon kef is good combo....demo in profx...
you can select overseries (than bs/fs)..centre....for movies its the only one star...center matters

But the cheapest RTi series floorstander ( RTi A5 ) costs 46k (MRP).
Simply can't afford it .
Aren't Tsi series speakers good ? or simply RTi series is better (they should as they cost more).

relax....its(rti) better...not that tsi is bad...
demo all and decide...if you are not seroios music listener...you can go for rti bs...(sub will handle bass)
i maen demo every possibility and then decide..

Ok.
One more doubt ..... Should I select the speakers first and then receiver accordingly ? or Receiver first and then speakers ? Which ever way, I wish to spend around 30k for receiver and 25-30k for FS.

go to profx....demo...they keep avr and speaker both..
a denon 2113 or like avr is good to drive fs....it is not that..1713 cannot...
so 30k avr to drive fs...is not a very good idea.

Hmmm ..... Denon 2113
What would be its price (not mrp :)) ?

I was searching for receivers from other brands which were close to Denon 2113 in terms of specifications, and came across this :

Pioneer VSX-922-K ( VSX-922-K | )

Someone in the forum bought it for about 34-35k. Which is around 4-5k more than what I decided to spend on receiver. So, I can afford it :yahoo:
What do you say about it ?
