Need your help to fulfill the dream !

I also recommend Wharfedale. For receiver whether Denon 1713 or Yamaha 473 will depend on the brand of speaker you are going to pair. Remember Denon has warm sound signature and Yamaha is on the brighter side.

You should audition Boston Acoustic A250 (25k) + Boston Acoustic A225C series.
Otherwise Jamo S606 HCS3 is an awesome package.

Which receiver from Denon 1713 and Yamaha 473 will be better for Wharfedale Obsidian 600. I am particularly asking for receiver for this speaker package because they are relatively cheaper (46k) and come in my budget.

I like the Jamo S606 package you mentioned, but I don't know their actual prices and it is listed for 53k in Reliance Digital (Shop for Jamo S 606 HCS 3 Home Cinema Systems at Reliance Digital) which is out of my reach.

have u bought ur system? I auditioned Yamaha 373 with 8390 speaker today in delhi in one distributor demo room. the speakers were brand new and sealed. I played thru dvd player/usb of receiver. the songs were a mix of english, hindi tamil mp3s with low bit rate 150-200 and a one cd of hindi bhajans. the English songs included deep purple hits. well the speakers had enough bass for the music and filled the demo room(which is not acoustically treated) which is around 17 by 11 feet. the clarity and separation was not there and it was as if some sort of thin veil was there over the song, the sound was not bright as some hfv members had reported reg Yamaha av receivers.. but these were brand new speakers straight out of the box and therefore how they would perform after proper burn-in should be taken into account as these were initial impressions. the dealer told these are entry level and the nexr FS NS-F150 would have better clarity but less bass, mrp 8390 around 18000 less by 10%discount. 150 mrp 23900 less 10%discount. I donot understand how it is very cheap in Hyderabad as indicated in initial posts. maybe the malls are cheaper and perhaps demo stock are sold. 8900 speaker is stated to be obsolete but I would rather prefer it keeping in view specs and build quality if it is available

No rpanand,I haven't bought the system yet. I am planning to save some money and get 5.0 speaker set instead of floor standers alone in a month or so. I almost decided to go with Sonodyne set, so waiting for right time to buy them and I haven't finalized on receiver.

Coming to the yamaha speakers, I saw NS8900 which was being offered for 14k per pair in Reliance Digital. And 8390 was offered for 12-13k per pair. Try to go and audition the same speakers in near by Reliance digital, because I believe all the reliance digital stores quote more or less same price across India.

Thanks for the advice jeemonpaul
It was in my mind but I thought it will be out of my budget !!!
What is the street price for Onkyo NR-515 in India ?
I request all the owners of Onkyo receivers (especially Onkyo 515) to step in here :) and help

And, can someone explain me what is THX certification ?
What if my AVRis THX certified or what is that I am missing if my AVR is not THX certified ?

Dear Krishnakanth , in my opinion, THX is all marketing B.S., and many many many of the best pieces of audio equipment and speakers aren't "THX CERTIFIED"

How many Denon receivers are THX certified? There is a lot of older equipment out there manufactured before certification. Many of these products would be stellar performers and could easily pass the certification. As was mentioned many manufacturers do not want to pay for the certification and their equipment would pass.

Don't bother about certification.

Here are some models of Onkyo with India MRP. Modern World

Onkyo 515 is 56000/-

I have recently checked in onkyo showroom in blr.
The entry level NR-414 is priced around 42k. Compared to denon and Yamaha, Onkyo AVRs are over priced in india.
Entry level itself is not affordable for the first time buyers.
They have added all Networking and other features to entry level models which many would not be interested.

If NR-414 itself costs 42k then I won't even dare to checkout the price of NR-515

And yes, even I am not interested in the networking features of the receiver at all.
Are there any receivers from the reputed brands without networking features in the range of 30-35k to drive Sonodyne Sonus 2605?

I think Yamaha RX-V473 should be able to drive Sonodyne Sonus 2605 effectively.
Sonodyne Speakers Need CONTINUOUS POWER (RMS) 130 W @ NOMINAL IMPEDANCE 8 Ohm.
RX-V473 provides 135W x 5 (6 ohms,) so it will be a problem. RX V 473 costs Rs37,490.00/- You can expect 5-7% discount on bargaining if not more.

Try to audition Yamaha and decide if you like its sound signature. They have very good ratings also > Yamaha RX-V473 and RX-V573 A/V Receivers | Home Theater

I think its a typo !!
Do you think 473 is capable of driving Sonus 2605 or they can't ? :)

Guys ....
Yesterday when I trying to search for Vectors Systems,Hyderabad, I found some pictures of store. I found the speakers of Heco being displayed in the store. There were almost half a dozen speakers on display. I have not even heard of that brand earlier .

Later, after some research, I found that it is a German brand and Vector Systems are their distributors / dealers.

I request all the experienced forum member to throw some light on the brand and their products in my budget :)

I found only one review of their speakers called Victa 700 by one of the forum members.
