OLED TV's price/best quote thread

Today went to Reliance Digital chennai, 65 C9 demo piece for 1.54 L. And there will be another 10% flat cashback on cards. Can check for burn in issue before delivery. The sales guy is pushing for extended warranty saying it is mandatory which is min 20k for one yr... If suppose getting without extended warranty and cashback at 1. 4L is it a advised to buy a demo piece?

Check the number of hours it has run. Anything below 1000 is great, 1500 is okay, 2000 is no, over 2500 is absolute no. These panels start showing burn-in at around 5000-7000 hours (quicker for store demo due to full brightness and same content). So if you're getting half the leftover life, no point paying 80% of the cost of a new unit.

I don't think it can be reset.
Thanks. I'm getting 175k (new piece from warehouse) for b9 without any negotiation. C9 has been discontinued here from everywhere.
That's a good price. With negotiation, anything below 165k is a steal.

Not exactly. We have examples of 2017 models suffering from general degradation from about 7000 hours in high brightness usage. 2019 and 2020 panels however have a much bigger red subpixel. How much does that enhance the life? Possibly, quite a lot. 2x at minimum at least, as now it's almost twice the size. Of course, aperture ratio improvements too.

Consider that from 2016 TV panels to 2017 panels, the change that supposedly that the TV stack, 3-layers, with 1 yellow/green layer and 2 blue layers in 2016 TV panels was changed by replacing one of the blue layers with a red layer. This seems to be the best bet that improved panel life a lot, as seen in Rtings' test. Red subpixel was degrading the fastest. 500 hours of a static image were enough to cause burn-in on 2016 TV panel. That increased to approx. 3000 hours in 2017 ones. Then 2018 bumped the red subpixel size and introduced logo luminance. 2019 panel increased red subpixel size again.

A 65-inch demo piece at 1.5l is a good deal, as long as hours are under 4,000-4500. Then it still has 10,000 hours or so left in it at least, which can last an average user 5-6 years.

Yes.. so do you suggest me to buy it now or should I wait for Diwali ? but I am not sure if stocks will last till then because he has only 6 to 7 pieces left. Also is Indian Premier League offer same as Diwali festival offer ( t&c says till 30nov)?

btw did you take your TV or just did an advance payment and waiting for Diwali offer?
Made the advance payment and now waiting to see if any price drop happens, but I am not sure it will. LG has already announced the free gifts etc, and they will stay till the November end. So may be just the price of the set could go down? I think once the Amazon and Flipkart sale starts, that's the time these stores will face most pressure this season.
So, let's see.

Thanks. I was also thinking to do the same thing but at the same time I fear that maybe they would box the display piece and give it to me because they would get enough time to do it . who knows lol... so I'll make the payment and will get the TV at the same/day to be sure .

Most of the times they are hand in hand with the retail shops so anything can happen , but generally only the LG engineers would have access to the menu right ?

Anyone with the factory remote can do it. I got it from AliExpress. You can also use apps and a phone with IR sensor.
