How lg c9 fares compared to sony a8g? I do not game much so hdmi2.1 is irrelevant for me. Thanks. I had seen Sony a9g in a showroom and it had depth in the picture ( 3d depth) but is very expensive. How much different sony a8g is from a9g in PQ.
Well all the tv you mentioned above are using LGs OLED panel. So more or less all will look the same 90% of time. If you don't care about 2.1 then sony A8G will be a better buy.It provides slightly better PQ than C9.How lg c9 fares compared to sony a8g? I do not game much so hdmi2.1 is irrelevant for me. Thanks. Yeah Now I feel A8 is a joke. C9 all the way and the best VFM Oled tv and this comes from a Sony fan boy. If not for this forum and mainly marak who helped me understand about Oled I would have ended up buying the A8. Look at the thread below and patiently read all my comments which will really help you choose between A8 and c9The same exact panel. C9 is better in some areas of PQ, like peak brightness and even accuracy OOTB, which might vary from sample to sample though, and A9G is better slightly in some others, such as motion. Dolby Vision is also better on C9 btw. Overall, A9G not worth the extra money IMO.
Love4sound was in a similar dilemma. You can search and go back to thread where he was deciding and read that chain, or just ask him. Lol

So Finally today I bought B9 for 178K.Hours can be reset. So you can never be sure.
Here the B9 65 inch went for 165k sealed.
So Finally today I bought B9 for 178K.
Tried a lot to bargain but couldn't get it below 178k. Actually the other store guy which told me 175k on 30th sept now today told 190k. he gave 5% duty tax the reason for this price hike. I didn't take tv from his store. So went to a different store and took it for 178k. Hope I got a good price. But Again I tried a lot hard to negotiate wasn't able to get below 178k. Delivery and Installation will be done tomorrow morning.
So guys what are all those checkups you recommend me to do after getting the box to switching ON the oled for the first time ?
Thanks.
Congratulations! good choice. Now that you’ve bought the TV don’t think about the spend. So Finally today I bought B9 for 178K.

Thanks for the suggestion. Really appreciated. Actually I was looking for C9 only but it's currently out of stock (also out of my budget) from almost everywhere and I don't think it will come back as some store guys were telling that it's discontinued ; although I was getting a last display piece of c9 in RD for 170K (without negotiation) but didn't want it to buy it as we didn't want to invest that much of money on a display TV which was there since 4.5 months as according to the RD demo guy, the display piece was there since May. Fresh stocks of c9 was available in the store from where I bought b9 but the sales guy was quoting a price of 2.25L with free offer TV... so I assume it would come down to 2L without the free TV... Also , my budget was 150k and we were adamant to go for Sony x95G/x90H but x95G 65" was not available anywhere and X90H didn't look as pleasing as oled and is also not as good as x95g at the same price so we thought to extend our budget and go for an oled . So I have barely increased my budget by 30000 rupees. ~2L for c9 will be impossible for me to spend . Actually I am not a hard-core content viewer or a gamer (actually it's zero gaming, only YouTube, pendrive movies and DTH), so the content quality we tested today on b9 was more than enough for us ( coming from 2011 Sony LED FHD TV. ) Hope I made a good decision.Congrats! Welcome to the club.
What's the price difference between B9 and C9? If it's only 10-12k, I highly recommend upgrading to C9. Better peak brightness, better color accuracy, faster software fixes and most importantly, lower artifacts and faster stabilization of artifacts when they do happen.
Now you'll see many happily using B9, especially on international forums, but you gotta ask yourself, are they using motion interpolation? Many don't. So they don't have any issue.
This motion artifacting is not something you'll find in many reviews. I didn't either. Now I'm telling you it's not good in B series at times. There's a whole post on LG Community about it. That's how I know.
10-12k extra split over the next 4 years of usage at least...it's only 2.5-3k per annum for a substantially better TV overall.
Thanks for your suggestions brother. Really appreciated. Will keep this in mind.Congratulations! good choice. Now that you’ve bought the TV don’t think about the spend.
For non-HDR just use the ifs bright room settings, adjust OLED light suitable to your eyes and that’s about it.
Try keeping OLED between 60-70 for first 50 hours if you can.
Have a good time with your OLED.
Yup, you bought an excellent TV. Enjoy it for the next few yearsThanks for the suggestion. Really appreciated. Welcome to the oled family. Great that it’s growing hahahah. Check packing and see if there is any tampering. Next see if the tv has film both at front and back. The bottom end of the front screen guard will have pink peel offs and it should be at bottom corners period. Next check the usage hours. Next for panel just check if there is any dead pixel. Test slide available in you tube. For screen uniformity check the thread Oled uniformity. Use the Settings and play the scenes suggested by marakk. So Finally today I bought B9 for 178K.

I'll get CX this Diwali. Just one question I wanna ask is how long I can expect it to last. I really don't upgrade TV very frequently. My current one is a 7 year old 1080p TV. So if the OLED can last as long that'll be great. My usage is very varied with mostly Netflix and prime content along with different video games so burn in probably won't be a big issue.
It is very hard to say, it involves a lot of luck and disciplined watching because OLEDs are still prone to have BI's, uniformity issues, loosing of pixels despite newer OLEDs are highly resistive. One needs to baby the TV by not playing static content or going too bright. OLED TVs are very hard to ignore, whenever I go to any TV store it is the OLED TV that impresses me than any other, but don't get carried away by my words I love OLEDs as much as I hate them for BI issues.I'll get CX this Diwali. Its all luck how long it lasts.I have friends with C6 & C7 who have clocked over 7000 hours and no problems. One with C6 has a non noticeable burn in. But things have changed with C8 onwards and bit more every year. Burn-in mitigation algos have been improved. Like C6 didn’t have some features. I have an year old C8 but less than 1000hrs . It's a risky purchase but you might get away with an OLED by using it carefully, because even LCD TVs degrade over time. With OLED there is always a risk, LED-LCDs/Plasmas are proven, I still have a 11 year old 1080p Akai with LG display inside which is midly degraded but very much watchable. But every time you watch an OLED you will have a very rich viewing experience with amazingly superior wide viewing angle. I am very sorry, if I am confusing you further.
As far as I know you might get an OLED to work for 7 years provided if you follow certain parameters and maintenance cycles and the rest is luck. Currently or in the near future there is nothing in the mainstream TV market that can beat an OLED.
Oh sorry for the OT.Last many posts don't have any relation to OLED pricing. Moderators may please clean this thread. Members may create a new OLED technical thread to discuss PQ etc. Pls post only OLED pricing information in this thread.
