Clear and very resolving especially the highs and true to the source. Basically, it leads to analyse the music during listening. Perfect for recording, mixing and mastering. This is my understanding.
So, then what does Hi-fidelity (hi-fi) mean?
Artificially lowered high frequency response that is not true to source but sounds "less fatiguing"?
I am sorry, but cotton or wool in ear would also suffice in that case!

Don’t you think the cotton or wool will disturb mids and imaging? Not all need true to the source sound. Its all about preference. Why would someone spend $5000 on a system tht he doesn’t like?
Also, treble a few db lower doesn’t mean it is not high fidelity and doesn’t reproduce those frequencies.
Can you conform all monitors resolve the same? If not, the one using low res monitors are out of their mind?
