Dear Members,

I have take demo of 49GX750 and 65GX800 in brand showroom which has all HDR formats with Dolby Vision.
Has anyone taken demo comparing to OLEDs and the to end LED side by side to make out the difference.

Thanks

GX750 is rebadged FX650 & GX800 is rebadged FX730 with upgraded processor HCX & new firmware.
As far as the GX800 is concerned its a replica of FX730D in terms of Design,Dimension,Features.

I have 55FX730D . In terms of picture Quality it is brilliant; close to Sony9000 . Color reproductions are too good and so natural.
HDR10+ is awesome.
Audio quality/quantity is OK. Not great but sufficient for 15 x 20 '' room.

The biggest Drawback is the Vertical Banding. It has 5 equidistant parallel Vertical bands spreads throughout the screen . The darkest one is at right in the middle of the screen. Which gives you an effect that screen is split between right n left equally. what i wonder that this vertical bands are not random; they looks like a design patterns. It might be the design flaws/limitation.
I think this design flaws are due to implementation of 4K local Dimming on an edgelit Panel. This bandings are not so prominent on most of the common contents like; Movies; Soap Opera, News Channels unless uniform color scenes comes up.

As soon as you switch to any sports content with a uniform background ; it becomes an irritation.

I had raised this issue to Panasonic top Level. This is my 3rd replacement of 730D . All model had exact patterns of Banding at the same location of the Panel. 2nd replacement had Panel gaps along with the Banding issue. i could clearly see the LEDs a the bottom panels. 4 times people came and visit my place from panasonic. Last time personel from Panasonic manufacturing plant had visited along with Testing Instruments.

It seems they can't get me any solution ; so they are in the process of refunding my money .

Please check GX800 properly before taking any decision. It seems Panasonic's attitude is kind of "in India Sab Chalta hain" types.

The only good part here is the fact that they visited your place so many times including someone from the factory :-) I too am considering the GX800D TV.

If you are thinking that they visited my place 4 times just by logging a complaint in their Service centre ; then my friend please delete that perception.

When i raised the issue to their Service Centre; 1st time a person came from service centre and went back after spending 1 hour and as usual the very next day the reply came that " this not an issue. TV is working as per specification".

So ; i escalated that to panasonic escalation email id mentioned in their website . But invain..no one bothered .

So after 1 week i mailed to their India MD . Then within an hour i got a call and this Time Panasonic Service Manager (Not Service Centre) booked an appointment . But this time also that service manager came and dint even bother to update me for a week ; and after a week i got the same response as above.

So this time; i escalated with harsh word to India MD along side some Japanese Region Head. After this escalation the 3rd & 4th visit happened. On the 3rd visit Panasonic's South Region Quality head came and then he confirmed that its an issue and they will look into it. But they told me that People from their Manufacturing Plant would like to visit .
That was the 4th visit. The irony was that ; the guy came from Factory ; he was still trying me to convince that this is not an issue . But later they got convinced that their bullshit was not going help me to get convinced. In this whole story i found the Quality Head professional and logical enough.

After all this Panasonic have asked me to pay additional 24K to replace with GX800D or refund .GX800D has MRP 104000 and FX730D has MRP 160000. They dint disclose the MRP even after asking 3 times . I had to get the GX800D MRP personally from Panasonic Brand Store.

The Service people in Panasonic are bunch of money sucker.

I have taken the decision to get the refund. If i have to pay more money i would go for OLED or Sony higher end models.

Hello users/experts,
Is this, vertical banding, a peculiar problem with all Panasonic TVs or more so in FX series or likely for TVs that use IPS panel with ELED or likely with other brands too? I'm close to buying 49FX730D, is it ok or do I have to look at other brands? Any suggestions please? Also is there a demo/test video for one to run, test and detect it upfront at the time of buying it? Please advise. Thanks
