Hi,

I see that the new panasonic models are out. Their Indian website does not appear to list a 42" model in their S60 series. Such a model does exist and is available in the US for about USD 500. Any idea if this has also been released in India? Or if it will be?

Also does anybody have some rough price estimates on the prices of the 50" and 60" S60 models listed currently?

Thanks!

btw s60 has got fantastic reviews...if you don't want 3D or Smart Tv you can go for this model.....actually i'm planning to buy the 50 inches for my bedroom....

This is the kind of TV I have been looking for a long time. No smart share, no 3D etc. Just a basic no frills FHD panel. I hope this set is good though I have not checked it out yet. Thrissur is a small place in terms of electronics so no go. People going through this thread can pitch in with the best prices available on these models.

you can also go for samsung ps51f5500 .....though it has 3D and Smart Tv features it is cheaper than panasonic 50s60 and offers very good 2D picture...
i was confused between these tvs but i finally decided to go for the samsung because colours and clarity is better than the panasonic....take a demo and decide for yourself.....meanwhile check out the review of the samsung...

Hi Zouresh,
Though I have bought the 60" inch S60, I am curious to know if there is any samsung 60" plasma that is close to PQ of S60 @ 1.2 lac. Are you aware of any Samsung model like this?

Regds,

no there is no 60 inches samsung plasma at 1.2 L ....but there is samsung 64f8500 which offers spectacular picture but the price is over 2L

What was the price you paid for 50S60 ? Is it 75K or more? I hope you searched for Samy51f5500 also. What was the best quote recieved for 51f5500?

i paid 80k for the 50s60 but you can get it for 75k....with regard to the samsung ps51f5500 i did not ask for the price because of reflection issues....

I booked Panasonic P60S60 60 inch Plasma tv on Aug 14th and got delivered on 16th for Rs.1.07 lacs from Girias, Rajajinagar, Bangalore. All the other dealers quoted around 1.2 lacs including Panasonic brand shop. I have opted for Bajaj Fin Zero percent EMI offer.

I am using Airtel DTH. All HD channel PQ looks excellent, but the SD channels looks average(using the default calibration). If one has got the calibration done for S60 series, please let me know the settings.

Hi All,
I am new to the forum , didn't found where to start a new thread , so I guess here would be a good place to put my query.

I am planning to buy a 46-50" LED TV . I have visited many stores , but I don't know why Panasonic DT series always attract me, because of natural, sharp colors in comparison to very bright sony and over saturated Samsung.

Please correct me if I am wrong , and if there are more better options out there .

Budget is a bit tight , but I wont mind spending around 60k.

Hi all,
I am a bit confused about 50S60 positioning.I went to the showroom and they where promoting UT50(last year model with 3D) over S60(No 3D).Also both are priced in same range. Apart from the Electronic touch pen what are the main features that differentiate S60(this year model) from UT50. Can someone give some good pointers. Is the PQ better than UT50?

dithering noise is a huge problem in panasonic plasmas.....the image is clear but not clean.....i have a 50s60 and i find extreme dithering noise in this tv....so if you want clean and clear images try the samsng ps51f5500

Don't worry too much about dithering. It is more of a blessing than calling it as a problem. Based on what few experts have commented, the dithering seems to add more to the shadow details. That is, dithering tries to show the shadow details as truly as possible (though not perfect) rather than masking them out (shadow details look washed out).
