btw s60 has got fantastic reviews...if you don't want 3D or Smart Tv you can go for this model.....actually i'm planning to buy the 50 inches for my bedroom....

WHY WHY Panasonic you stopping Plasma production?? WHY WHY??? When you are making the best Plasma TVs for everyone then why you have to stop??? I really dont have any logic to that....Panasonic PLASMA should be continued for the GREAT Interest of Humanity....I wish every Panasonic Plasma Lovers (like me) donate some of their monies from around the World to fund Panasonic for not stopping manufacturing Their Beautiful Plasma Televisions....I would be the first person in the queue to donate Panasonic from my Hard Earned Money....Shame Panny management team...You are just killing your own 'Best In The World' Television Engineers and redeploying them to the world of LEDs...Making Diego Maradona play Cricket to become Sachin Tendulkar !!!!...All the Best Panasonic CEO !!!...

dithering noise is a huge problem in panasonic plasmas.....the image is clear but not clean.....i have a 50s60 and i find extreme dithering noise in this tv....so if you want clean and clear images try the samsng ps51f5500

Do u still get the noise?. In this post u have recommended Samsung over Panasonic.

actually dithering noise is found on all plasmas....but it is not visible from a sensible viewing distance.....initially thought that dithering noise is less on samsung plasmas but after reading many reviews and close observation i came to know that dithering noise is very less on panasonic plasmas when compared to samsung plasmas.....

I don't have one currently. Just heard it with FiiO E10 at a friend's place and was blown away. Imo it beats Onkyo HTIBs :p simply because I can party loud with no one getting disturbed in my house.
Don't think 42" model is available on S60 anymore. Try Panasonic brandshops.

panasonic s60 settings....for a dimly lit room....just add these settings in the true cinema mode....keep refresh rate at 100hz....

Panasonic TC-P50S60 picture settings - CNET HDTV picture settings Forums

Just got my TV last week, and for the first 24 hours, I was very dis appointed comparing it to the Panasonic P42V20D.

But thank you, for the settings, now I am so much happier after applying them I am close enough to my old plasma, if not nearly the same. Thanks a lot for sharing this.

i find these settings very good for the panasonic s60 (for a dimly lit room)......

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the great inputs, esp. Zouresh :clapping:

I went ahead and bought the p50s60. I'm very happy with the picture quality but no so much about the sound.

I'm planning to get a home theater system and connect it to my TV. I'm a novice here and don't know what should I be looking for in a Home theater system, will my TV support it, will my gaming console support it etc. Does my TV support dolby output?

I read somewhere that not all home theater systems support connecting to TVs. Is it true?

Any inputs will be greatly appreciated :)

there is optical audio output on the s60...you can use it to connect to your home theatre....or you can connect optical or coaxial output directly from your set top box and bluray/dvd player to your home theatre....

there is no anti reflective filter on the s60....that is the reason for the amazing clarity on the s60....make sure you control the lighting in your room to get amazing results on the s60.....the settings which i use now gives me the best picture on the s60...try it and see whether you like it....
