Thanks a lot Zouresh for sharing the settings. I tried with this setting in Custom Display, but the Factory settings of "Dynamic" display looks better.

you can also try the cinema mode....contrast-83,brightness-0,color-50,sharpness-0,tint-o,color temperature-warm all other enhancements-off
use these settings and dim/off the lights in your room....

When you mentioned setting of contrast to 83, was it a typo error ? I hope so. With your new plasma, be careful in not setting contrast above 50 for the first 200 hours. Just a precaution to prevent IR ....

Dear mbmblr,
Please avoid going for Dynamic. It will definitely hurt your eyes more than your TV.

Thanks Zouresh, this helped me to get better PQ for my SD channels also.

Shanmune : Thanks for your suggestions.

50UT50D available @69K Indiatimes, 73K Ebay. Is it Worth spending more than 20K for ST series. If not particualr about 3D, 50S60D is available for 71.5K at infibeam. Comments please

Well, I still couldn't figure out a way to find the number of hours the panel is used in P60S60D! Could some one help?

Keep pressing Vol (-) on TV
Press and release Info on remote 3 times
It will enter Service Menu
Press 2 twice and OK on remote
Will show SRV Tool
Down button to Pict
Right key to blank cell next to it
Press and Hold Mute on remote till displays time

Just one correction .. instead of "Pict" it is "PTCT" in the menu. Its showing me 136 hrs and count to be 157. Guess that should be ok [its been 4 days since the TV arrived and I'm sure we would have watched 25hrs or more.

It's OK, not much usage. And thanks for the correction :) Diwali Ke Shubh Kamnayen !!

Denom,
I am also from Mumbai and going in for a good Plasma Television.

Could you please let me know the dealers where you got these prices?

Thanks!

Guys,
I just discovered something today when I demoed the Panasonic TH-P50S60D.

This Plasma has only a web-browser with NO built-in Apps. So, if one wants to watch Youtube, then we need to open it from the web-browser.

That would also be fine, but there is another issue. Youtube videos which need Adobe Flash player to run will NOT run on this TV, which means that very much most of the Youtube videos won't run.

Now this confused me, because I was dead sure that there are 6 Apps running on the 50S60D including Youtube as per the review I had read on CNET.

http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-t...-35558333.html

That's when I discovered that these are two different TVs!

The one reviewed on CNET which has Youtube loaded is the Panasonic TC-P50S60

And the one available in India is the Panasonic TH-P50S60 and this does NOT have any apps loaded and does NOT run youtube videos which need Adobe.

In fact the Panasonic TH-P50S60 doesn't even seem to be reviewed on CNET.

Guys, what is your take on this, have I missed out on anything?

Thanks!

I own this model. You are correct. The web browser is useless, and can't load YouTube. But it has in built WiFi and dlna. I use bubbleupnp app from my android devices and stream the hd videos. YouTube or from local libs. You might need a 300mbs router at least for this to be flicker free.
