Panasonic UT50 (2012 model) Owners Thread

Panasonic provides 2 pairs of 3D glasses with ST50 and above models by default. These are included in the box.

For UT50 and below models, the dealers have worked out a strategy with Panasonic to offer the glasses as complimentary. Hence these are not included in the box and are handed over separately.

Cost of each new pair is around Rs. 6,000, AFAIK.

I will advise you to confirm all facts from dealer.

I advise to wait for two or three days. I heard PUJA offer will be declared on 23-09-12. Better finalize the deals after this.

Did you not demo this or other TVs properly before buying - also if you would have read carefully about it in this forum, it has been mentioned as well (flat panel hence SQ is compromised etc). In any case having a HT is again a personal choice and no company would like to lose revenue by offering it free. Its like accessories with your car... As far as I know, only Panasonic is/was offering free HT but others like LG, Samsung (BDP), Sony are not... may be they have slightly better SQ so the users are not complaining.

Regarding the buzzing sound, I will check again and confirm.

What is the woofer size given with the HT. There is difference in specs given on panasonic site(20cm) and the operation manual(16cm). My free HT has not been delivered. May come in week as per the dealer. Please reply.

That is what was told to me. In your case, dealer may have dropped the glasses in your package.

just came from VijaySales in my vicinity - they dont keep plasma. As I wrote earlier, Croma does have UT. Earlier the dilemma was specs/brand, now the hunt is ON for 42UT - if anyone could help me on this too.

As per website info the woofer size is increased to improve the performance. I suspect the ht presently being given are the old boxes. Hence out of curiosity i wanted to know the woofer size provided in your box. New woofer is big and 400mm height old ones are 300mm height. If you observed please reply.

had gone out for grocery shopping and also visited Snehanjali in vicinity - they dont keep Pana plasma. Next check was at Malaika - 42UT50 was not on display and as per his pricelist the final offer given was 69.5K. later today I may hunt more stores. the chase is becoming intense !

One of my friend said that Vijay Sales -andheri (west) might have UT50 models.

Don't know about Mumbai. The Pune outlets of Vijay Sales don't keep Panasonic plasmas. I would suggest that you call them. Will save unnecessary commute.

pl excuse, as Im pouring some more updates - near realtime !
afternoon I went hunting few kilometers, ofcourse driving & not on horse.

- eZone at Infinity Mall, Malad: had only X50 on display, no other stock.
- Reliance Digital at same mall: had only X50, no other stock

drove hardly 500 mtr and entered Croma at Palm Spring building: had XT50 on display, no other stock.

(no other stock = part not available even in their inventory system.)

driving back towards home, checked at SonyMony at Borivali(W), near Indraprast mall - no Pana.

Now, there is a relatively small dealer just 100 mtr before SonyMony (towards Malad side) - Sangeet Services. The owner was a good gentleman, though model was not on display, he checked the pricelist, which apparently was outdatedby a month - still mentioning the HT offer ! When I asked to confirm & verify the entire package, he called a distributor and below was the final offer after his conversations:
- 42UT50D at 66500/- (after reducing 1000 for returning my 21" TV)
- pack will have 1 x 3d glass
- extra glass would be approx 4500 (not sure)
- Pana is rolling out offer - pay extra 2K and get a Print+Fax+Scan Multi Function Device, worth 10K. Silly. If I would have booked today, then I could also avail this MFD.

Finally I booked P50UT50 at Croma (Pune), at 81000 ( 1500 will be cashback from SBI card), so final price would be 79500. Will get TV in 8-15 days. Need to pay 1999 extra for printer.

Sure, but the thread loses its focus. This thread should be for owners to share usage tips, service issues, warranty issues, caliberation, etc. etc. Btw, has anyone even done caliberation? I will be doing it post 200 hours. I have already downloaded caliberation video from AVSforum.

All pre-purchase matters should be discussed on another thread, there are many existing threads for that.
